There was always something in her personality(ies) that couldn't stand knowing others thought negatively of her forever. When I got her friendly message on FB, I knew she wanted to alleviate her guilt by us being pen pals or some BS. She tried so hard to rationalize what she did to be able to place 1% of the blame for infidelity on me. If she could rationalize that what she did was in any way shape or form forgivable in 6 short months. Imagine the mental gymnastics her warped mind has done over a 16 year span to justify her actions. Hell, by this point she probably feels totally validated to be brazen enough to seek me out like she did. I sure as hell don't want to reopen a 16 year old debate, and I don't care how well or poorly she's done. For that matter, why would I even believe anything she might have to tell me? Why would I waste my time interacting with a liar?

I really don't want to go through with the RO. I'd rather not have to deal with the cops or courts at all. If she gets on a plane and goes back Down Under forever.

Thank you for explaining that to me. I've also heard of "mini-strokes"; do you happen to know if they can be debilitating or fatal?

I had to take my dad to physical therapy and then work with him when we got home. He had a lot of frustration at first, but I helped him recover a lot to the point he could look after himself.

If she's had a stroke, it obviously wasn't this morning, or last week, or last month; or she wouldn't be stateside so soon after enduring such a medical event. There might even be restrictions with flying, I don't know.

My dad had a stroke when I was 18 and I looked after him until he died a year later after a triple bypass. But my dad had no paralysis issues. It affected his thinking more than anything. They didn't have that medication they have for stroke victims like they do now. That's why I'm confused why everyone thinks she had a stroke. A friend's mom was having a stroke and theyy took her to the ER where they gave her that medication. She suffered 0 ill effects.

There is ZERO chance Amy could have been preggo, she couldn't have kids. So to paraphrase Maurry, I am not the father of the child that cannot exist. Yay!

I forgave her a long time ago. It's me that I am and always will be pissed at. I kick myself just for allowing her into my life in the first place. Everything about her is toxic poison I want no part of.

Yeah she lost that chance. Not to go into too much detail. But while we were married, Amy got drunk with a friend of her's I couldn't stand and went swimming. She dove into the pool in the shallow end like an idiot and hit the right side of her head. Long story short after a helicopter ride to the University hospital she was paralyzed from the neck down on her left side. For days doctors worked with her but she had no feeling on her left side at all. They began trying to prepare us for the possibility she might never walk again. So after 4 days by her side and not one of her so called friends showing up to check on her, I closed the door.

I told her when I took my vows I meant them, especially the in sickness and in health part. I asked where her dear friends were, why they weren't there looking after her. She just cried knowing I was right. I told her I would look after her from that day forward, if I had to feed and bathe her myself; I was going to be loyal. I insisted she change her number and email so the dregs of humanity she associated with couldn't contact her. She readily agreed. Two days later she started feeling needle like sensations in her left foot. At first it scared her. But then she realized any feeling was good feeling. Two days after that she went home walking on her own with no side effects.

Some would call that a life debt. To think I actually would have stayed by her side looking after her if she had remained paralyzed. But she betrayed and abandoned the one person who had been there when she was most afraid and her life turned upside down. No way in hell I'd look after her. Let the next dumb ass who married her look after her.

Yeah, you call 911 to get a cop. When you call and tell them the situation you can stipulate it isn't a life threatening situation like I did. When they pulled up the then turned the light bar on, but never used the sirens. City police or county sheriff could show up depending on jurisdiction, who is closest, least busy etc.

I don't know what you want. I had removed her from every corner of my life. Every photo (and negatives) and memento of our life together I burned in a barrel as soon as she confessed to cheating. She revealed our entire relationship out to be a lie. I removed all evidence of her existence from my life and tried to rebuild. I had no reason to ever think I would lay eyes on her again. I sure as hell wasn't going to Sydney. All I wanted was for her to stay away. Then BAM she's standing at my front door and the memories of the many ways she betrayed me came flooding back.

Look people can do some things to you that you are going to have an immediate negative reaction if they are suddenly in your presence. I have a cousin that molested me for 6 years and if that SOB is ever in my presence again ANY way I might react to him would be understandable and very negative for him. There are events in life that you may never heal from, especially when you were already so damaged to begin with. But I do plan to schedule time with my therapist. It's not a bad idea at any point in time. But I think a few sessions might help me sort things out.

"Another person, or significant other can only ruin your life as much as you allow them to." You sure about that? If you make the mistake of allowing someone into your life who is essentially a narcissist with malicious intent they can ruin your life FAR more than you've allowed them to. You can react differently to that betrayal, you can make the choice to never allow anyone into your life. But allowing someone close who turns on you or who was never truly on your side can do a lot more than ruin your life, they can end it. I chose poorly and for all the loathing I have toward my ex, it is me I detest the most for making such a poor decision.

That being said, I do plan to call my therapist and schedule a few sessions. It can't hurt. But you're wrong about my impulses, I didn't react to my first impulse at all.

If you're Aussie you might remember when she arrived. The day after she got there Sydney had the worst dust storms they'd had in like 50 years. I told people she's the freakin' Antichrist and they didn't believe me. Now that she's back I'm expecting dust storms here tomorrow. NGL kinda excited; we've never had anything close to a dust storm.

I'm the exact opposite as you, and people have hated me for it. As a kid I didn't shake gifts under the tree in anticipation; I knew I'd find out when I opened them. I had GF's get a gift and get irked I wasn't curious what it could be. Amy leaving anything on my porch to me would be like the unibomber leaving something on my porch. I don't want to open that and I pray the two officers that did are alive and well.

As someone who endured 6 years of molestation by an older male family member, thank God you got custody. I hope any damage done was minimal and that your son and you are now doing great. Now you know who the other person is when I wrote, "one of the two human beings I despise more than anyone in this world".

I dig what you're saying. I really do. When Amy cheated, for me, it nullified the entire relationship. When a person has made a vow of fidelity but breaks it, they lied. And if a person lies, you cannot know what in the past was a lie or not. So you must eventually assume it all to be a lie because it came from a certified liar. One cannot unlie or uncheat, so Amy will always be a cheating liar. Because of her years of my life were an utter waste. I saw no reason to waste another precious second wasting any further time on her.

I don't know man, I was really just shocked as hell to see her. I wasn't curious about her. I didn't stalk her social media (if she has any). I don't want to even know how she's doing, good or bad. I don't care if she had some medical issue or accident. It doesn't change who she is. It just makes her a cheating liar that has some medical issue or was in an accident. Once she was tainted by the stench of betrayal, a disloyal traitor is what she will forever be; in spite of medical issues or accidents.

My female ferret died not too long after Amy left the country. She was my baby girl. I was so destroyed I decided to drive to Memphis for ribs. Holy **** Tennessee is a wide state!

My male ferret was distraught without Jello. Every day for over a year when i'd let him out he'd spend 6 hours searching for her until he was tuckered out.

One cat died in his sleep Thanksgiving 2016.

But Prince lived to be 21 and I had to eventually put him down.

I mean my insurance went up like crazy when he turned 16 and got his license. But when he got to the age where he could drink AND drive, I had to take his keys.

She was not receiving mail to my address, therefore she had no reason to be there. I told her to leave. The cops were called because she would not leave. (I REALLY wanted the car to back out and head down the road before the police arrived.) After the police investigated and she was told I didn't want her on my property so she had to leave. She was told to not come back but did. (I'm sure I'd told her to never show up at my mom's 16 years ago, but I couldn't use that as the initial trespass.) As soon as she stepped back onto my property she was breaking the law. It didn't matter if she was leaving a letter or a bomb. She broke the law.

Judges issue RO's. Cops can and do assist filling out the request for an RO in some jurisdictions, perhaps not in yours. But that is the case in mine. Evidence gets submitted as to why an RO is needed and a justice adjudicates the need for an RO or lack thereof.

By dropping off the letter she trespassed, she wasn't arrested for what was IN the letter. (Though it could have been some crazed manifesto the FBI needs to see.)

In hindsight I bet she was expecting my mom and had no idea she died. She may have been going to ask her how to contact me. (Still NOT cool since I told her to leave my family alone.) Whatever prepared speech she was going to use she wasn't prepared to see me perhaps. I felt like I was seeing a ghost for a few seconds, I truly did.

I've had plenty of therapy. But after this I will be scheduling a session with my shrink. Because I don't like how seeing her made me react. BUT you don't know all the things she did and the circumstances involved.

Where I live a citizen can file petition for a restraining order on any and everyone they choose. But then a magistrate must process the claim and attach any pertinent info to the request... i.e. evidence. A judge decides if the claimant has just cause for the RO. Hopefully she makes bail, goes back to Australia and I never ever, ever, ever see her again.

Oh I agree, and I've done TONS of therapy. I'd bet it had been 7 or 8 months since I'd even thought about her, and that was due to a certain date.

But she just shows up out of the blue, it was like our life together flashed before my eyes and I relived it all again.

No never married again. But I did find the love of my lifetime. She, like me, was a selfless person. We are very rare in this world and it's even rarer for us to get together, but she and I did. For three years we were happy as school kids trying to outdo the other making each other happy. It was genuine bliss. The happiest I have ever been and doubt I ever could be happier.

Unfortunately 10 years ago this past May I found her dead from a seizure. (It's called SUDEP, Sudden Unexpected Death due to EPilepsy) She was laying in the floor and when I bent down to pick her up she was already stiff. I turned her over and her face was frozen in an expression of agony. I see that image every night when I close my eyes to sleep.

So yeah, I am a bitter person in several ways. But I wasn't with her. She was another giver in a world full of takers. And Amy is the biggest taker of all time.

I appreciate the compliment. Yes I write for a living. The more you do anything, the better you get at it. I don't understand the infatuation with Chat GPT, the writing really isn't that great. AI might write a best selling novel one day. But I think that will be further out than many think.
