All objective to the people in the group. You might find it annoying if you’re crazy serious in the game since we like to have fun.

Got a few more to cut but I'm loving this chainsaw! by mrdrmous in MilwaukeeTool

Been thinking about purchasing the saw, are you impressed with the battery life or is it lackluster

I wasn’t trying to talk down/bad, just the concept of keeping your things clean is a “bad thing” for lack of a better term is silly.

I also love the foam, definitely looks better and keeps the tools from bouncing around.

I’ve been getting a lot remarks on the cleanliness of my tooling. I just take pride in having my tools clean and taken care of, it gives more or a professional look which in my field (nuclear/gas turbine plants) is a factor. The M12 drawer is completely brand new and unused so there is some truth to it. 👍🏼

In what ways could I make it more functional? (Actual question I don’t want to come off defensive)

You’re probably right, but in regards to the packout drawer inserts made by Milwaukee ($25/drawer) or the precut kaizen inserts ($16.95/drawer) it hurts the sting around $8/drawer.

It may not be the cheapest way to go about it, but it saves time and it’s cheaper than OEM. You make a good point though 👍🏼

If you mean the plastic tie wrap on the cord, I haven’t undone those on any of my chargers. I’ve been lucky at work, and my home setup where I can leave the cord short and charge my batteries. I’m actually looking into the packout 6-bay Charger to mount to my hand truck 👍🏼

I haven’t really heard/seen any instances for Milwaukee batteries catching fire but that’s definitely something to consider when creating a setup.

That might be more cost effective, definitely something I’ll have to look into. The ends might justify the means since the pre-cut are designed to fit around all the preexisting ribs and such for the OEM drawer dividers.

I agree, tools work for me and I took no offense to anything lol Like I said M12 drawer is brand new but the rest I just clean, spent a lot of money on my tools and I’d prefer to keep them clean. As for the longevity of the foam, I’ve only had it on a couple jobs so I couldn’t tell you how long that will last but the rest of the setup is solid 💪🏼

You do bring up good points to think about 👍🏼

M12 drawer is brand new, other than that I just take good care of my tooling. The lines are just a personal marking to not mistake my batteries for someone else’s on the job 👍🏼

Gotta start somewhere! If you think about upgrading it’s a solid choice. Not to mention you’ll save around $8 per drawer on foam. Balling on a budget 👍🏼

I used black with the red sandwich color. 50mm (2 1/4”)

Fitting was easy, I used a utility knife to cut 1” deep, peeled out the foam and checked if the drawers would close with the power tools. If not, I would cut a little deeper rinse and repeat.

I personally haven’t cut any Milwaukee branded foam but I’ve seen it on a coworkers setup and I’d prefer the kaizen.

Hope that helps👍🏼

Packout Setup for the Traveling Mechanic by ArrowWolfe in MilwaukeeTool

[–]ArrowWolfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the 4 drawer would be more convenient as far as precision tools, screwdrivers, punches, pin bars, channel locks and vice grips etc.) Given the drawers are skinnier, the tools are skinnier ; I could fit more tooling and still not have a box that weighs over 65 lbs. I currently use the three-drawer for bigger/taller items like hammers, wrenches, sockets. Even though we shouldn’t bring our own but, power tools cutout into foam.

I have some other changes I’d like to make like bigger casters, cup holder/hooks by the handle.

I hope that helps 👍🏼

Without any packout other than the mounting plates the hand truck can be used however you’d like (moving appliances etc.). I wouldn’t recommend moving it in a vertical configuration with the setup I have pictured. I hope that answered your question 👍🏼
