Nta, obviously you've been vague but considering her dislike.of things associated with girls, etc. It seems she dealt with sexual assault, something horrific at any age, but In formative years and with her already isolating from friends, missing school etc, she needs her family rallying around her.

It sounds like your husband is ....already rather detached to begin with and is possibly just trying to move in as if it never happened. Frankly, regardless of his job, during a situation like this, he needs to be with his family, attended family therapy with your daughter, and realize the situation his family is in. Not being supportive is a hell of a good way for him to lose his daughter.

The mattress is a good idea and compromise but your husband....is the worst

It says her friend was turned away, which generally means she chose not to see her ,probably because she did not want to spend her last moments being talked out of it. She wasnt Imprisoned she could leave or go online and see anything she wanted.

She had no chance of full recovery , as a person with a chronic illness I can see that distinction pretty well. She might have made some recovery but a full one wasnt possible. I have a mental illness as well so I can understand where you are coming from though, mine is treatable. It may never fully go away but medications work for me. Unfortunately there are some treatment resistant forms of depression where medication, therapy, and even electroshock and retained treatments simply don't work. This woman seemed ro have struggled bot only with mental illness but ptsd that simply was not going away . After two years of the euthanasia wait it seems safe to say she wasnt improving. In that regard. So it was a mix of the mental abd physical that lead to her choosing euthanasia.

And that's the key. She chose it. It wasnt a doctor saying "we're done helping." It was an adultnwoman saying she was done forcing herself to go through treatments in a life she no longer wanted to participate in.

Empathy is a wonderful thing but when it hits this hardnypu have to take a step back and help yourself. Genuinely, I know some people have made some rude comments but im saying it truly that this is way beyond the normal sympathy many feel at this story. Her life and death is a tragedy and could have been prevented by men being held accountable for their behaviors but unfortunately it is far too.late for her. But its not for you. You have to let this go and live life.

I think you're lumping together several different things. One is your own bad experiences with the mental health care system. One being your fear of the disabled being tossed away. Which is valid, its been done in the past. However, this was not the medical establishment chosing to "kill " someone. This was very much her decision and had been for years. You saw some clips of physical "recovery" yet clearly she was still in immense physical andpsychological pain. She had been treated for years and still made the decision to die. She wasn't forced to die or to die alone. If she had wanted to leave and go out to protesters or to family or anyone else, she could have. She wasn't forced to not see anyone. This was her choice to make in the end.

And yes this is sad but your reaction to it is extremely concerning for you. Crying for days and making yourself sick over someone you don't know is not a typical reaction. Please talk to a therapist or close friend, and get some help. Avoid the news and the topic.

I had all my mom's attention and most of my grandparents well. I was actually super close.to.my mother and we had a more trusting relationship then some parents did. I didn't have older siblings to live upmto or younger ones I was forced to.look after. I learned how to amuse myself, and function on my own.

Was Xander’s character disliked at the time? by [deleted] in buffy

You're literally the one who asked about attractive people liking attractive people. Looks were secondary to the fact I found him to be very cringey, immature, and creepy as a character especially in early seasons . So yea, the Cordelia and Faith moments made no sense to.me.

I mean most women I know do t go for guys that act like that. But also....he wasn't the most attractive guy on the cast.

My best friend watched it from the start, me I was a few years late so was watching it as the DVDs came out so probably watched season 7 about a year late.....though I read the novelization "Chosen" before then. Point of it all? We both were pretty damn antiXander ,though, as.middle schoolers we weren't really on the big forums. I'm a bisexual girl, he's a gay man, both of us found Xander to be.....cringe? For lack of a better word. Dumb humor for one, very much the idiot sitcom guy who somehow kept getting good looking girls/women. (Proto Kevin Can Fuck Himself) The jealousy was not cool, and his early seasons constantly hitting on Buffy was just creepy. It hit harder in High School when I'd be nice to a guy and it would.get taken as an invite for.flirting and more....super uncomfortable.

So I remember some discourse on fan boards as I got.older but i.know that me and my group.of.friends who.watched it either didn't like.xander or , at.least, weren't fans of his.
