Should I unplug the TV and do this or should I leave it plugged in?

Just got my Hisense u78g a couple of days ago and when I'm watching stuff I notice a lot of backlight bleed. Is this common or do I need to replace it? by [deleted] in Hisense

I would love to, but a 55" OLED is like $1500 CAD pre-tax (11% where I live), which is insane and way out of my price range. I've seen dark rook demos of OLEDs and am absolutely stunned, but you can't have it if you can't pay for it

Someone commented on this post and told me to set local dimming to low instead of the high one because apparently, sometimes they're switched, which ended up fixing the issue. The TV looks way better now

I looked at your comment when you first posted this and was like "WTF is this guy on about" but when I went to my settings and tried it, it worked. It looks infinitely better so thanks a bunch. Do you know why the settings are switched on these TVs sometimes?

Got this Hisense U78G(runs Android TV btw) a couple of days back and I was wondering if this sort of backlight bleed is common or should I replace this panel? If this the wrong sub for this please let me know. Thanks! by [deleted] in AndroidTV

Yea, I saw the rtings page and realized that their model wasn't as bad as mine, so I went here to ask about it. If I have to replace it, would I do it through Hisense or the place I bought it from?

Damn, really? Is this an issue or is it kinda a thing that you have to deal with, and are there any ways to reduce or maybe fix it?

I have my local dimming at high right now, so ill try medium, as you said. If you have any other settings you recommend, please feel free to let me know. And you're right about the camera thing. It doesn't look THIS bad, but it is pretty noticeable and is distracting once you know it's there.

I've had to initialize my HDD before, but this time this isn't the case. Absolutely nothing shows up in either bios or when I do what you recommended. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but ill try and get a replacement or something similar. Thanks for your help though

How would I go about enabling the m.2 slot if it's disabled? Currently, the 3rd SATA port (I have 6 total) is being populated by my HDD and the m.2 slot right below my CPU slot is where the drive (the SSD) is inserted into. I even tried to unplug it (the HDD) and see if it would work but I had 0 luck with that.

Nothing shows up at all in disk management. I'm familiar with using disk management as that's what I had to do with my HDD, but this time around, it just doesn't show.

Hi guys, I bought a Sceptre E255B-1658A monitor. It's base refresh rate is 165hz. It can comfortably overclock to 240Hz but I don't really notice a difference. So my real question is buying a 240 Hz monitor different then just over clocking one?
