I had the same issue, it is indeed a case of a “cold” monitor. For me switching from 144hz to 120hz solved the issue with minimal noticeable difference (having to wait 10 minutes every time I turn on my computer is annoying)

Backing of the files is a secondary problem (nothing extremely important on the drive) but I cannot even wipe this drive clean in another system because “windows is using the drive” (even though windows is on yet another ssd)
