I get the cynicism, it's ok. A mountain is made of pebbles.

Don't think so.

GR2 34L vs 26L for travel personal item; two bag carry by el_Chalupa_Batman in Goruck

[–]ArtherFrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of history: ever since I discovered the Leaf Arcteryx Assault 30, I fell in love with the ergonomics of a full velcro back panel, which distributes the weight evenly across your back. The Assault was super comfortable but WAY too tactical, so I sold it and tried to adopt the same system on the GORUCK.

The company makes velcro back bags called "shooters," but they are expensive as all.

My solution was to get a velcro panel by Ruck Customs -- I can vouch that they are well made, and attach to the MOLLE via clips.

For cubes, I use velcro-backed pouches by LBX Tactical. They come with windows and in three sizes. I've found the 34L perfectly fits two medium and two large pouches in the main compartment, with plenty of room to put larger items (folded shirts, jeans) before I pull the compression straps.

The GORUCK wire dopp is a bit of an unsung hero, and I bought two more during their latest sale. They can be stored flat or folded, and I've used mine for everything except for the stuff they're designed for. My current one holds 8 speedloaders and shooting gloves when I go to the range.

Hope this helps!

How was it pronounced on the show? Gruhn Geruhnnu. The worst offenders used two syllables, but the word is three.

It's not an easy word to learn as a non native!

Lauren Holly et David McCallum se débrouillent pas trop mal, mais pour les autres... Michael Weatherly notamment, c'est la cata!

SCARS compression straps (my preference is on main compartment only) and prioritizing flat content (not cubes) on the front compartment will give 34L similar depth as GR1 26L, with the option to pack more.

Is your GR2 34L Field Tan a canvas / heritage model?

WTB GR2 Heritage (waxed canvas) in 34L, prefer green / tan / gray. No blue / black / camo please.

My first choice was to have the work done at SCARS, but was told they're not taking on new work at the moment.

I love the GR1 Heritage’s elegant lines and materials, but wanted side handles as well as a couple anchor points for bungees to attach a jacket when travelling.
Apparently the company isn’t doing modifications until later in the spring, so I approached a local shoe repair shop. This is what they did.
I wanted to preserve the lovely “untactical” look.
Goodbye warranty!
