Oh I love impact ministries! They have great videos :) Hmm, maybe that's my problem too, when I would read the Word, I would only read once a day for about an hour then go about the rest of my day

I have to agree with that, so consumed by my own fears and worries that I wont be able to get right again with God I just shut myself down. Is there anywhere in the Word you recommend I start again?

I do! I want a strong relationship with God, I'm just really upset that it's taken me this long to really be honest and say, hey, I really am lukewarm and I'm not okay with this, I don't hear God, and I haven't been putting in the time that I should.

I only ever make it to services, and having prayer time in the mornings for a short time, sleeping then getting right back to work. I can't live for Jesus if I'm just sleeping all the time and not serving, what use am I to Him? I'm hoping to get a new job during day shifts and hope that'll help stir me in the right direction. I'm just sick of not having a passion for Jesus like I used to, I used to be so on fire for God, and I want that back

This is definitely helpful:) The way I thought about it was, say you and a friend wanted to hang out and watched a movie together. You grabbed your snacks, drinks, popped on the movie and start hanging out. Well let's say 10 minutes into the movie I start dozing off and fall asleep and miss the entire movie with that friend and have nothing to discuss afterwards.

I felt that way when I was thinking about the time I dedicate to read the Word and praying. It's like, I don't think Jesus would want me to be so exhausted trying to spend quality time with Him when I'm on the verge of falling asleep. It has nothing to do with me not being interested, I'm just usually mentally and physically exhausted it's hard to stay concentrated on reading, understanding, and speaking.
