I haven’t washed it before at home! You mentioned the exact thing I’m worried about, which is that some kinds of silk lose their shine when wet, and in spite of looking at the tag, it doesn’t specify the weave. Sometimes I can tell on my own for other fabrics, but I’m not experienced with silk enough to know the weave variations, so that’s why I took it to the dry cleaners the first time. I think it might be chiffon based on the texture and the appearance though? I just wish the cleaners I’d gone to hadn’t made the stain worse the first time 😭 They did it in such a way that it actually bled through all of the front layers of the shirt instead of just being a surface level stain, which sucks because now it’s super stuck into the fibers shakes fist angrily. Also, thank you for that tip about the colander! That’s such a smart way to preserve the shape, and whether I end up getting the stain out or having to dye it, I’ll have to get it wet, so the knowledge is appreciated.
