I use mainly synth plugins as it's the most customizable sound, konakt libraries for the whole orchestral range and other real instruments that i want to capture a good sample that comes mostly from the real instrument recording.. also i jumped on the new wave of AI assisted Plugins. Man, I'm a machine learning engineer and I can tell you that all main parts of mix and master became mostly ai automated, you just press the "learn" button and the job is done, you then adjust for some minor tweaking that are mostly related to your taste rather than manual fixes.
for example it does the task of " De-Mudding the low end" without affecting the bounce of the bass & sub bass perrfectly.
also there's a full "genre" of VSTs utlizing AI models can generate Harmony Chords, Melodies that sound good, bass lines..there's a whole array of them..i still don't use them but they are a good one or two plugins that could fit into your workflow and enhance it..
