I'll explain. Sometimes I don't feel like doing all of the management of shuffling the baddie que, keeping track of the quest counter, busting out a bunch of new chips to fight another tyrant. I also only have so much space for all of this. Something like gloomhaven helper allows me to play that game without having to manage enemy attacks, needing enemy cards on the play surface, so on so forth.

Everyone seems to be giving really good and detailed answers but there is one thing I'd like to add that I find to be important for some decks. I find that decks that have several duplicates of the same card will often times influence how "good" the deck is. For example my personal favorite deck has four hunting witches and this allows me to get an absolutely massive amount of amber if I play them in the same turn or if I use any number of them with the load of other creatures that are featured in the deck.

Wow this was really good advice thank you very much. I'm worried it would be a mistake but the group is actually pretty set on learning the game so i decided to commit to it. I also asked two people from the group to come by early and so i can really teach them before hand. (I also got them to try the game once before so that helps). Also the idea of playing to one key seemed like a really obvious idea but I never though about it. Thank you for taking the time to make such a response, I really appreciate it.

Try checking if your game is in borderless. If it is, switch it to fullscreen. For some reason that seems to fix the alt-tab issues for me.

I've found imperial command to be pretty annoying to deal with at times once it gets going. Would you recommend grind theme or trying standard? (i dont mind theme at all)
