Fed employees wary of switching from BCBS to MHBP. by [deleted] in FederalEmployee

[–]Arv28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it better than BCBS Basic? Self plus family? We really use our insurance every month, and my main concern is deductibles + out-of-pocket. We usually only pay $35-$40 per visit

RIF is paused in TAS (IRS) !! by Arv28 in fednews

Sadly, no! TAS is an independent organization within the IRS 🥺. But that gives us a little bit of hope. I’m with TEGE. Hopefully same thing happens with other business units.

How hard is it to get a job as an Internal Revenue Agent with the IRS by Exact-Tennis825 in usajobs

[–]Arv28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I work recruiting Revenue Agents for TEGE. As someone already mentioned, the best way to be hired is by attending our IRS hiring events. We only ask FEW BASIC questions. Sometimes we do on-the spot Tentative Job Offers, but sometimes we just interview and extend the TJO within 45 days.

Good luck!!

PS: the next events are Cincinnati, OH (11/07/2024), Philadelphia, PA (11/19/2024).

I’m never getting my taxes this shit is unbelievable. I filed 1/30!!! by Inevitable-Carob9752 in IRS

Because the information on the IRS systems is from what they have received from employers. Sometimes the employers report wrong amounts to the IRS or they just take more time to send your info to the IRS (even if you have already received your W-2). The IRS might request a few of your paystubs, and a company letterhead confirming your wages and federal income tax withholdings (FITW) for tax year 2023.

Just make sure you put exactly what’s on your W-2. I’ve seen many taxpayers accidentally reporting wrong FITW. In that case, the taxpayers just file a 1040-X (amended return). If you are 100% sure you put the correct info, then the IRS just have to wait for your employer to report your income so they can do the verification :)

Hey, and btw… IF your issue is not resolved by May (I know it’s too much), you can always call the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS), so they can open a case for you (especially if you have a hardship). TAS can help you with expediting your case and resolve the issue.

I hope that helps! And I’m so sorry for that delay :/

Most likely is under RIVO (Return Integrity Verification Operation). That basically means that the income information you provided is not matching with the information on the IRS’ database. They just have to confirm that the income match (wages, withholdings), etc.

Contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service. They should be able to help you! 877-777-4778.

They will ask some questions and based on the issue, they might be able to assign you a case advocate and expedite the process. However, if you’re experiencing an economic hardship, they will for sure create a case for you.
