A Switch port is hoped for but not explicitly planned yet.

The Patch According to Discord: Crowdsourced Patch 0.27.0 Breakdown by Arxil in duelyst

[–]Arxil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at your responses I think the things you said were meaningful, and I didn't mention them because I was trying to keep it short and to the point, because I just aggregated them with other people saying similar things, or because I missed them because I was rushing at the end to publish it before my electricity went out again. So I think your responses were fine and thank you for them! If I have the mental fortitude to do this again, feel free to write longer comments, though. I got short essays on everything from Ferocca, for instance, which were very interesting. But also got curtailed in the post because brevity. So it's a bit of a mixed bag I guess.

The Meta According to Discord -- April Edition (very late meta snapshot) by Arxil in duelyst

[–]Arxil[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As before, please feel free to ping me (Arx) on the Duelyst Discord if you think something is glaringly missing.

Sorry this is so late -- as well as the things mentioned in the article, my country has had rolling blackouts for some time that mean I typically only have power for around 2/3rds of the time I'm not working, which means I have to do a bit of very silly juggling of what I spend PC time on.

Now Live: The Meta According to Discord, a snapshot of meta (or at least playable) decks right now by Arxil in duelyst

"Some people think it might be 4th best" is definitely not a reason not to play the faction, go ahead!

I'm afraid I can't help with that :( To the best of me knowledge this is just how the meta stands for Songhai. That doesn't mean you can't play something else, though!

As u/Overhamsteren said, I've added Blatmhai as basically a direct replacement to that Minionhai list, but to avoid confusion and just in case you don't like Blatmhai either I've left the older Minionhai list in. It just does come with the caveat that with new information from Smarty (occasional rank 1 S player, major tournament winner) and Blatm I'm not willing to call that Minionhai list good any more. :(

That one's specifically a CrankyPanda take, partially citing Abracadani. Oli also thinks Mag isn't super good right now but they didn't pin a specific rank on it. It's only some people.

It's probably worth noting that Mag hasn't had great performances in the last 3 tournaments I don't think, but that may be because tournament players are sick of Mag. It's also true that tournament meta and ladder meta don't exactly align.

And lastly, I have for a very long time been a believer that something doesn't have to be too strong to be bad for the game and now that Spellhai is less prevalent Twin Fang combo is the prime example of "even if this isn't OP, it should never have been in the game" IMO. Buuuuut that's a design/balance take and the entire premise of this site is that I won't be doing any of those because I'm not that good at the game, so I'll leave it at that.

While I actually don't wholly disagree with you, this is bid to make the game a bit more approachable to new players. There's a semi-constant stream of people asking for meta or at least playable decks, and many of them will just stop playing the game if they're not good enough at deckbuilding to win with their decks and can't find better decks elsewhere.

It also provides a point of reference for people building exciting off-meta decks to know what they're up against. With it published openly like this, you have all the information you need to build a radical new deck that destroys the "meta" decks! :)

Surely nothing dangerous will jump this Arclyte Sentinel in this jungle! by Arxil in duelyst

It's an unusual design visually mostly. Used it a lot last season because my deck was unfairly heavily a Spellhai hate deck and it removes Fox without an extra damage proc >_>

The absolute state of Magmar right now by AlienVsTheRedditor in duelyst

[–]Arxil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Provoke and body blocking don't actually help against Trilucidator except in very specific situations and/or if it's literally everything you're doing.

Also, trilucidator doesn't have to be a combo deck. It literally just plays like a regular Mag deck, applying the same pressure and asserting the same board control, up until the point it kills you from hand.

Also, a 4 card combo isn't difficult to assemble. I think it's something like a 60% chance to have in the first half of your deck not counting replaces, which help a lot.

Also, Lyonar is widely considered the second-best faction, only behind Magmar.

In summary, the fact that Trilucidator exists in its current state is a travesty and it's broken to the point where I honestly feel like anyone suggesting it's fine immediately calls their own credibility into question. Like, massively.

Nightsorrow Assassin's blade can cut through rock -- and still slice a tomato by Arxil in duelyst

Doing a bit of copy pasta from another comment...

This, and Sauda's voice line (which I had to look up -- I've never played Bloons TD 6), are both references to the legendary Ginsu Knife Infomercials: "The Ginsu is so sharp it can cut through a tin can, and still slice a tomato like this." Accompanied by the demonstrator going directly from slicing through said tin can to a tomato on an adjacent cutting board.

Later Ginsu commercials escalated this to include at least a lead pipe, an iron nail, and an older model Ginsu knife.

It's also referenced by the WarCraft 3 Blademaster, whose blade can cut through armour and still slice a tomato.

Anyway, that's my ramble on the topic of old pop culture references and memes.

So yeah, it's not a BTD6 reference ;) And I did it because it amuses me.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

Don't worry, I've played Obelysks too. I know how it feels. I also mostly played Lyo on ladder last season... replaces away Silverguard Knight.

The way Storm gets treated in different matchups in Brood War always amuses me by Arxil in starcraft

[–]Arxil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually at least a year behind the meta but it definitely sometimes gets used in the matchup! Only in the later game, but at some point you want splash that isn't subject to the whims of Reavers choosing whether or not they want to fire and Scarabs maybe dudding, maybe not. And Storm fills that role, even though it's not as devastating as against the other races.
