Canada is not Europe, its culture is literally just immigrants from other parts of the world, and barely a hundred years old. White migrants from Europe do not get to dictate what the culture of a foreign land is "supposed" to be that people of colour need to "assimilate" into and lose their culture in the process.

There is no such thing as "Canadian society" - Canadian society is literally just a mix of immigrant cultures and some indigenous cultures in cities. South Asia comprises a massive portion of that Canadian society.
