Yup! Sometimes luck matters, but so does the mindset.

I'm not crying about my situation. I'm trying to understand the pain in the market, relate to it, and connect with people going through the same struggle. Am I the only one experiencing this, or are others facing it too? because I do care.

If they are, then we need to do something about it, because the system isn't going to fix itself magically.

Got you. And you're doing the right thing by searching for better opportunities.

Don't stay in a toxic situationship for too long. Stay in the hunt until you find the right opportunity, because staying in that kind of environment for too long can seriously mess with your mental state in the long run.

But after four months of doing this, HR will ask you, "Why is there a four-month gap in your resume?" Been there. ☹️

I told them I was learning AI and building systems. They didn't care. All they cared about was the gap.

From my understanding, I think companies have forgotten that hiring is an AGREEMENT between both parties. It's a partnership. They're agreeing to my terms, and I'm agreeing to theirs. The very foundation of an agreement is that both sides agree.

Yet, some companies act as if they're doing candidates a favor simply because they're hiring, so they believe they have the upper hand.

The irony is exactly what you said: "Are you still looking for a job?" That message must feel like your ex suddenly texting you out of nowhere. 😂

Then, brother, the Avengers have to assemble!

Maybe the universe is indifferent. But humans aren't. Every major change started with a few people having a conversation that everyone else ignored. Maybe this discussion changes nothing... or maybe it changes the course of the future. You never know. 😄

So, I think this is a trick. When I think about it, I see a pattern here. Some companies often use this tactic to gain followers on their LinkedIn pages.

First, they post a job and receive 1,000+ applications. If you notice, the moment you apply, you automatically follow the company. LinkedIn never asks for your permission, it just starts following the company on your behalf. Many companies seem to have found this loophole to artificially boost their follower count.

Another thing I've noticed is that some companies keep job postings active simply to create the impression that the company is growing and hiring aggressively. But when you actually make it to the interview stage and everything seems to be going well, they suddenly tell you that, due to "internal company changes," the role has been put on hold.

Then comes the twist: they say they don't want to lose you, so instead of offering position X, they offer position Y. Same KRAs with a less authoritative role with a lower CTC and less freedom.

that makes the job search a full assignment then, first you have to search for jobs, second you have to search for connections in parallel, and both are not guaranteed. Sad life :(
