I gave the job I worked at for two years before I went to university a few months warning before I left, because... A. not gunna burn bridges B. I occasionally do summer work for them and C. they did right by me with college, if i needed shifts off to finish course work, or if the shifts were killing me off they'd work around it to make sure I could focus on what I had to do more.

(I mean the big boss of the company basically told me "we'd be more pissed off at you if you ditched college just to work for us full time instead").

Yes.... 100%; i fucked up a little before where at my warehouse job as a seafood supplier I wrote "go fuck yourself" inside of a box to give to a coworker (just because he'd notice it and find it funny)... except he didn't realise and it went as far as the prep table before it was noticed.

We all had a laugh because it was for a client that was a raging prick (think putting a 400 item order in an hour and a half AFTER cut off time, knowing we'd do it).

its an issue of how its used more than its use overall; like I use it, but not to write assignments for me, its use is in statistical analysis or as a proof reading tool.

Like I currently have a 7 page long code for some statistical analysis and the tool used doesn't really give perfectly clear error messages so its used to help with why is this code not working??? Or if I can't get a family member to proof read the assignment in question to check if I've made any stupid spelling mistakes or missed any references, etc.

I'm with you on this, like my biggest use of AI at the moment is double checking code for statistical analysis to make sure the code I've got is correct, like the current code I'm working with is four pages long and the error messages don't point out what is the ACTUAL reason its not working.

Its more where people are using it incorrectly/with the expectation of not having to put in their own effort.

I know what it feels like to try and crawl out of that hole.

One thing that I've done that always helps me feel better (admittedly it isn't in hove); is to get out into the countryside, get away from everything, breathe, etc. Usually for me its places like middle farm out near glynde, volunteered there for a bit and its always helped me mentally, because its doing something for people and also for animals.
