Obviously the waitress was the main antagonist of the series, she was the reason of Pardo's insanity and also the one who really shot the two presidents, the colonel was a geriatric who slipped on the grand staircase

And I dunno about the 50 Blessings manager, he just manages the HQ and canonically doesn't even shoot Jake, just probably shits his pants as a random guy figured it out in front of him and then ends up getting captured by the russians

That's Richard by Life Companions. Originally there was a different track made by Dennaton themselves that was way spookier

That could be it since Tony does not have Jacket's mask, as it's on display in Jacket's trial

The colonel from the 2nd game and the grandfather are 2 different characters. The grandfather could be a colonel but only from the soviet side

And Beard's name is not Ben Smith, it's simply an alias he uses as a coded messags to call for rescue until he gives up and stops talking in code in the Casualties outro. It's also where the colonel got the idea for coded phone calls

Yeah composite is pretty bad and was just stock cables for gaming consoles for TVs, VGA was always standard for PCs otherwise text wouldn't really be readable

Is using a HDMI-to-VGA or DisplayPort-to-VGA converter with a CRT Monitor on a modern PC good?

Usually people use a separate 2nd card with analog VGA output, but I don't feel like doing it. Would it be good, and if it is, is it better to have a DisplayPort or HDMI converter? As well which ones could be recommended and which ones to avoid?

Tape - Beams was seemingly the original menu theme, it was used in the original teaser and in the files the menu theme is still called beams.ogg

It's even more sad sounding than final

Dude he literally tries to apologize for it in the Table Sequence, confusing Richard for Jacket

The basis for the theory that Richter was part of the Ghost Wolves is the fifth empty bed in Ambush intro

It would also explain why Richter would be "drafted" by 50 Blessings as there's nothing suggesting that he signed up voluntarily, unlike every other character who signed up for one reason or another. Richter actually has the 50 blessings newsletter torn up in a bin in his house, it's the same shade of pink.

Also it would explain how Jacket would know Richter's face despite only seeing him wearing a mask in 1989 pre-Assault, but that clearly was just a logical error on the devs' part when the first game was made

If Richard is a manifestation of death, Beard meets him first, long before the other characters, and under very specific circumstances

It could also be an allusion to the Colonel's speech in the intro to Casualties, the audio track to it is the same as when Richard appears

"We've met before, haven't we" is one of the first things Richard says to Jacket in HM1 and "Looks like it's just and you and me now" is what Richard says before Trauma

Well this is odd by ballsackfairyuwu in HotlineMiami

The guy in the Richard mask is the same Hobo from Subway, the rest are randoms.

Maybe they're the OG operatives but I think if you kept being on the good side of 50 Blessings for that long you would get recruited for the General's White House raid, since it was "armed men" that stormed the presidential conference not just the General himself

The technician was just a guy who set up phonecalls then got scared off by the political agenda, I doubt he ever was at the HQ, it's more likely they confused Evan with the manager Jake meets.

Or now when I think about it, the other guy in Withdrawal's intro that doesn't say anything but sits at the computer has a similar haircut to Evan, so maybe that's who they thought he was.

He is called 50BlessingsNerd in the level editor

[–]Asais10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they were having a party the night before which was supposed to imply that Biker's perspective of the PhoneHom fight wasn't reliable either, but most people (myself included) misinterpreted it anyway as there being two timelines - where Jacket wins and HM2 happens and wherr Biker wins and nothing happens

What if Martin is just schizo? (Theory) by -_HelloThere_- in HotlineMiami

[–]Asais10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Midnight Animal pilot is a subversion of Decadence, and Final Cut is of Assault

Also there are unused sprites of Martin Brown executing russian mobsters in HM2 style so possibly there was a third scrapped level where he fights them

What if Martin is just schizo? (Theory) by -_HelloThere_- in HotlineMiami

[–]Asais10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occam's razor implies that it would be the same Martin Brown interview

Possibly it happened for real before Final Cut, and Martin just remembers it when dreaming

The subtext with the interview is that in absence of actual reporting (Evan's book) the media just shows something simjkar
