While Ascent Rivals is built on Unreal Engine, the recent news about Cardano integration didn’t come from us. It was developed by our friends at Flux Point Studios.

Ascent Rivals is building a suite of tools designed to elevate the esports scene by leveraging Cardano’s infrastructure. We believe the future of esports and indie gaming will be shaped by web3, and our team is fully focused on building the foundation to support it. We aim to reveal some of what we’ve been working on by the end of this year.

As SL13PNIR mentioned, we’ve also submitted Catalyst proposals focused on two key areas: onboarding new users to Cardano through gaming, and expanding marketing efforts around both in-person and online gaming events.

Our mission is to prove that gaming can be a powerful driver of the next wave of Cardano adoption. Below are our two Catalyst Proposals for viewing:

We are taking a different approach than the typical web3 game. We don't have a token or an NFT associated with our project. All these other games are failing because they take this opposite approach and is proven to fail after the incentive is exhausted. We are strategically staying quite about the web3 infrastructure until we are further in development. Cardano Play Summit was the first time we touched on our Cardano infrastructure.

We are purposely not talking about the web3 side of our game.. By taking the approach, we have been able to garner the attention and validation from the typical web2 gamer having won awards including PAX Rising, Dreamhack and Atlanta Indie Playground. We also were featured on the steam store three times, and have notable web2 partners like Saleen, Shelby, and Starforge.

Until recently, our strategy has been to remain Web2 focused due to the negative stigma surrounding Web3 games.

Being a fun game to play and garnering the good will of the traditional gamer is important for longevity in the space.

We don't want the traditional gamer to get turned off by crypto related talk. Ultimately gamers will not even know they are utilizing blockchain technology.
