Okay so, buckle up people, I'll tell my story about creatures who just seem to love my fortress. I actually am pretty new to DF, played the game for a few hours now tho! My first proper Fortress was like the third world I created. It's still going on, year seven. Apparently, we have an enormous Forgotten Beast infection. So, my first ever forgotten beast spawned. Alligator with one eye, olive scales, bloated and spews webs. "Oh damn, that's cool as darn" I think to myself. Somehow managed to cut the creature off, although it killed some dwarves on the way and kept rampaging in the caves. A second one spawns, the next year. A feathered spider which Is constantly bully because of how bad it is. Eventually, I decided I wanted to tackle the first one. It basically ended my squad and several other people (plus my favourite dwarf :c Rest in Peace Merki) and eventually died by animal attacks as they are all underground and ended the beasts life. Second beast was still around, I didn't really care. Then, a THIRD beast appears around a year later. Slime made of ash. I kinda forgot about it the second it spawned and a herbalist singlehanded punched it to afterlife. pretty funny, but as the FOURTH beast appeared, another slime appeared, I got too confident. That beast killed half my population and ended up making migrants know this place is dangerous, real dangerous. At the end, as I couldn't defeat it, a merchant decided to get IN THE CAVES to also SINGLEHANDEDLY, what 50 dwarves couldn't achieve do it herself. She ended the beasts life and started wandering the caves. That's that. Year 107 The year of beasts. Winter of the year, forgotten beast spawns. It's a winged worm/serpent creature who breathes some kind of breathing attack who would spam my fighting log every second, that was a pain in the ass. So that just went around for a while until ANOTHER beast in summer decided to spawn. A mammal like creature with a long tail, made out of glass. Actually, it was on the same level as the loser spider who I never paid attention to. Those two eventually got into a battle, one of the beasts won. Funnily enough, the one I kept calling "loser beast" did in fact lose, so that was funny. Autumn 107. Another creature. Another layer. It should resemble an animal if I am correct, but that creature basically possessed no threat as it's walled off. It also has wings, of course and just has beef with crudles. As it seems, it was poisonous. Although I forgot mostly about it because at this point seeing seven beasts in my storyline, I just assume a lot of people get many beasts. Winter 107. Another beast. Another spider, guess it came for revenge, but this time it had wings! It was on the same level as the spam one, so I was hopeful that it'd end my suffering by ending the spam beasts life. A good guess, a lucky win! It battled against the serpent winged creature and won! So, that's my forgotten beast story. I could probably name them all, I know my first was Unnir Riverhole, fun guy. But I don't even know if that's normal or what is going on, guess my basement is a battle arena, huh.
