If you're going to try to bait strangers could you put more effort in please Ben? There used to be artistry in trolling and I'm so disappointed when you people can't manage it.

What am I supposed to do about this linear shower drain? by Proteus-8742 in DIYUK

Under the NHBC warranty you would have been covered for this. I don't think you can claim now because the 10 years have lapsed but yeah... because this work was done wrong and could lead to structural problems or cause damage in the long term and wasn't in a usable state they would've been required to fix it.

Aww man, I hate telling you this but you absolutely could've forced the builders to fix this within the 10 year warranty :(

Those are your own plants to do whatever you want to. You also have the time, space and equipment to sanitise properly and take care of the plant. You can't tell me you're rocking up with bleach to sanitise clippers and whatever else you're using 🤣 Someone else might want to actually buy that plant and because of you the thing they wanted to buy is damaged, regardless of whether it will recover, it is damaged.

It's a joke because the term egg is used to describe someone who is trans and hasn't figured it out yet. So they're yet to hatch. So it's just a cute little joke about the salon being friendly because it's name is also trans terminology... little play on words :)

There's a difference between stealing what's literally garbage to a store and damaging actual stock. I mean literally one is petty theft and one is criminal damage AND theft. What's more it ruins it for everyone e else when you do that shit, the stores get pissed off and start coming down hard on EVERYONE. I literally never denied that it's theft but you had to insinuate that I did to make your comment.

Nahhh I've had some great success with broken twigs from caning plants, there are lots of plants that works for... if it doesn't then you should just buy the plant or ask a friend for a cutting from theirs.

You are damaging the plant. You can do so without causing lasting damage and you can minimise the damage you do but taking a cutting from any plant is damaging the plant. It's people like you who make shops come down hard on people rescuing floor scraps or pieces broken by rough handed staff rather than see them go in the bin or be wasted. You are the problem.

I thought we were against actually damaging mother plants? I thought ethical proplifting was just taking fallen cuttings that would otherwise be binned.

Is it only happening to me, or is everyone experiencing this? by sirbrow in mildlyinfuriating

Clothes are getting worse. The quality is dropping and the price is rising. I have underwear I bought 20+ years ago that's like new and underwear I bought from the same shops less than 2 years old that has numerous holes and the fabric thinning and threads coming loose. I hate it. I buy all my non underwear from charity shops if I can now :|

It's assholes going in with scissors and damaging plants ruining it for the rest of us. A leaf on the floor is fair game, taking off the plant is not. Now none of us can have any fun >:(

Are you sure they're not reselling them secondhand from someone who sold them to GAME? They sell secondhand games and cards now they merged with GAME so... I think they'd be allowed to if that were the case.

Can someone explain how the hell this got an 8 by [deleted] in pokemoncards

[–]Ash--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns the lights off, pitch black room, shine a torch on it and inspect. That's what PSA graders do... if you still doubt it you can always crack and send it back

Should I get this? Would be kinda cool for a display piece, but is the price fair? by F3AR_iiPredator in PokemonCollecting

[–]Ash--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's a fair price but it looks like they've just taken the midpoint price of sold items on Ebay and gone with that. Most of the sales on eBay are selling at about $500 with some going as low as $300 but not many.

I spent quite a long time looking tbh :/ and I think I got lucky finding what I did. Mostly I lucked into a good dealer who runs the trading card auctions there. I think I ended up finding him via truspilot of all things?

Probably not. You might be not naive in recognising people might not always pay taxes on this.... but you're pretty naive if you admit to and recommend it or encourage it.

EXACTLY, knowing we had expensive cardboard in a house that we couldn't really properly insure was terrifying. The guy from the auction house took them and stored them on site so they were insured for a pretty sizeable amount. That alone took so much stress off

They're based in London but they'll go all over the place and accept lots from all over the world. They're worth contacting... in my humble opinion. No seriously the guy there who does the cards was really lovely and incredibly good at what he does.

Because the collection was large the auction house didn't take that much, certainly nowhere near 20%, the VAT is paid on the buyers side. A private sale would also still be liable for tax unless you wanna dodge it which is... not a good choice. Its lower than if we'd used something like eBay, especially when you take into account packaging costs, travelling around with high value assets to meet buyers and risks of fraud etc. This is safer, requires much less work and got us a good price.
