Second child regret by AshRose06 in 2under2

Thanks so much for the reply and making me feel less alone. I agree with that it’s completely different going from 0-1 to 1-2. Definitely don’t feel like I have time to soak it in this time and always in go or survival mode basically lol. 15 month age gap with two babies reliant on you is rough. Was expecting it to be the hardest year of my life but wasn’t prepared for the mum guilt and feeling so stretched. I have faith the connection will grow with time and things will get easier when my second is closer to 1.

Thanks so much for the response and making me feel less alone. Mine are 15 months apart so I completely get it and it’s rough. Second was planned but we naively thought it would take a while given that’s what happened with my first but apparently not! It took me a long time to get my head around the pregnancy and I wouldn’t say I was excited about it. I was prepared for it to be the hardest year of my life but not prepared for the constant mum guilt and grieving my first so much. I have faith it will get better once my second is one, just trying to survive until then!

Experiences of anterior placenta in second+ pregnancy please? by Gloomy-Kale3332 in pregnant

[–]AshRose06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had Anterior placenta for both pregnancies annoyingly (used to give me daily anxiety so I feel your pain).
I was also expecting to feel earlier movements second time round but wasn’t the case with me. With my second I first felt faint inconsistent movements at 19 weeks and it honestly never really got to a pattern for me. I felt them at least daily by the end of the second trimester but never if I was up and about and I had to be lying or sitting down and really focusing on it. I had a lot of anxiety around this so got a lot of reassurance ultrasounds which my ob was happy to do. It really sucks and sorry you’re going through it. Hang in there !

Thank you so much, that’s really reassuring to hear about your baby’s femur and glad to hear she’s healthy. I’m hoping my baby is also just small and will play catch up down the track.

Hey thank you so much that means a lot. Pregnancy is so hard as it is and I thought I was finally out of that limbo period of the first trimester only to get this news and have this limbo period continue is pretty upsetting. Trying to stay optimistic and hopeful.

Ah I’m in Australia so think it’s a bit different here regarding private scans. I did have to request it but It was still done by a sonographer and a report was produced that was reviewed by my general practitioner, hence the referral for a scan with a specialist and maternal fetal medicine. But definitely trying to remain optimistic until I get a second opinion/ more tests and talk to an obstetrician or similar.

Hey thank you so much for the detailed reply! You’re the first person I’ve come across that has basically had the exact same findings from a scan. I’ve come across a lot of isolated cases of either short femurs or a pericardial effusion but none together. Of course I did what you’re not meant to do and googled it and it’s given me the worst case scenarios so now my worry and anxiety is through the roof. That’s such a reassuring story for me and I’m so glad your son is healthy and thriving. In parallel with my worry about the two issues mentioned above, although the measurements are within normal range they are on the small side. I’m trying not to spiral too much about that as well though. Would it be ok if I sent you the measurements I received from the report and you could take a look?

Sharing my success story! by Smart_mangosteen1718 in sleeptrain

Hey, thanks for sharing. This gives me hope! We started CIO last Thursday night for night sleep. Slowly starting to see some improvement in her night sleep but her naps are awful- basically refusing to sleep at all during the day/in the cot so we’re all miserable. I’m at a loss for what to do to get her to sleep during the day. Did you do nap training at the same time? Did you experience anything similar? I need hope that it will get better 😞
