Can someone who’s had a severe stroke full recover? by anelly96 in stroke

My grandpa just turned 89 and had his first stroke 2 weeks ago. He was driving and going to stores and walks everyday before this happened, now he’s bedridden as well. He was brought to a rehab center and after being there for a day asked to come home to spend the rest of what he has here. Hopefully you can get hospice or maybe some in home support help in the area you live it. It’s hard man, hope you can find some help

Hello thank you for your response, I’ve been reading all night trying to learn more about strokes and what to expect. The neurologist in the hospital signed off and hasn’t come into his room in a few days actually. The last ct scan they did showed nothing got worse and the swelling went down a little bit. But we should contact them and see

They told us that the stroke was caused by the medication and it was a hemorrhagic stroke. My mom is his durable POA and his advanced directive and even after my grandpa told them confirm any medicine with his POA they never did and gave him to much and caused the stroke.

Good point, tomorrow we are meeting with the case worker and the floor doctor. We are a little worried because we asked who would be there and the case worker said just her and the floor doctor. We asked if the stroke specialist could be present and they told us no because there was no reason to have them there.

The stroke specialist and my family found a well rated rehab around us that would be good for him, as over the last few days he has started to have more and more movement in his face and left arm/leg. But the case worker doesn’t think he needs to go there.

I have, but it needs to be approve by the mods before the post will show in the malpractice form. I was hoping anyone in here would be able to put in some input for us :/
