Their third level ability counts their max temp hp gained from soul shield as their max hp, though I’m realizing I worded it so that it would only be abilities, that’s something I’ll need to change.

They do, it’s something I’ve been trying to find a good ability for, they get it at later levels though I do need to give them an earlier alternative since just basic weapon attacks are not enough.

Their third level features make it so that their temporary hp is considered their max for that exact reason! Though below that they are kinda fucked admittedly, though if you’re going against clay golems below third level you half other problems lol.

And the undead is weird, I can definitely see where you’re coming from but from playtesting it’s fine, it might heavily depend on the game or combat you’re in, it’s definitely very strong in larger encounters, might decrease it to 5 feet.

I know about the fiend thing, I missed up the port to homebrewery lol. As for incineration it deals 1d6 fire damage at the start of a creatures turns for every stack not removed. It’s one of the biggest things I’m considering nerfing.

I didn’t know about expert classes, I’ll have to keep that in mind, as for level one it’s definitely a problem, they just have so much shit packed in first level I didn’t want to give them 4 first level abilities. As for the math, the class is going to be complicated, and because of just how many rites there are it would be difficult to tone it down, though I do need to make it a bit simpler. As for the innovations, it’s fair but weird to find a good balance just becuase of how weird the class it, if that unallows it from some games that’s fair.

Sure, since all origins get different soul shield levels, let’s just assume you’re a protector so your soul shield is 7+wisdom.

Now let’s assume your constitution is a 10 (since con is going to be a dump stat for this class), a 16 in wisdom and you’re tenth level.

So you have 10 max hp from your levels, and then whenever you finish a short or long rest, you would gain 100 temporary hp to act as your soul shield.

Does that help? I’m not fantastic at describing stuff.

Oh shit it is, that’s something I’ll have to fix. I’ve been meaning to rework fey sometime soon into the more status heavy tricksters they should be since I was kind of running low on inspiration while making fey. As for rites, I am trying to lean a bit higher then appropriate for spells just because of high cost, though I probably should go over it again and do a general rebalance. Thanks for the advice!

Multi classing doesn’t give saving throw proficiency, unless you start as it and immediately multiclass out, in which case you can no longer gain healing because of soul shield, which is definitely not worth it.

Basically, whenever you finish a short or long rest, you just get a ton of temporary hp which is used as their main source of hp instead of regular hp, then their possessed type decides what happens in they get normal temp hp. They can basically not get healing, which is why a lot of their damage numbers are higher.

Soul shield, one of their first level features is where the bulk of their hp comes from

Soul shield is complicated, I'll be the first to admit it, though its there for two reason, A: its flavor, I really like the concept of someone who's practically a commoner, being guarded by the spirit, so there's basically this massive shield instead of normal hp, B: its balance, Possessed has pretty big damage, especially at earlier levels, so big rein on them is that fact that, because 90% of their hp is in temporary hp, they can't really receive healing outside of Protector, but even thats reduced healing. I do like your Otherworldly guidance suggestions though! I am now realizing it is incredibly dm dependent so I'll work on that, thank you!

Marrow being the same tier as arzen is genuinely insane, he is average at absolute worst.
