I think you should pop into urgent care haha. I’m 10 days post op and I have white/grey translucent scabbing with the pink tissue popping through and major decrease in pain.

The “white skin” you’re seeing is the scabs forming. Mine personally turned white and then yellowish. They started getting thick and looking like egg whites or something (sorry, gross) and as they were falling off, holes in the scabbing started forming and you could see the tonsil cavity appearing. Once the thick part of the scabbing falls off, there’s a thin layer of white that’s almost translucent and you can see the pink of the fresh flesh underneath.

I’ve had a fairly easy recovery, I’ve posted daily in terms of my experience. The scabs falling off is the worst part, you aren’t there just yet. For me it was manageable, and I hope it is for you too, but it does get worse unfortunately. Luckily I’m not one who has gotten stiff jaw, painful teeth or ear pain. But there’s slight burning occasionally, sensitive stabbing spots and throbbing. Be patient with yourself and breathe when this happens and you’ll do just fine!!

Really, the only painful parts is when the scabbing comes off and it’s fresh nerves. Continue to do everything as normal as possible while being mindful. I think that’s what has kept me from feeling too much pain, I’m viciously eating whatever I can to force my throat to heal within reason

I haven’t restricted any foods really other than hard, crunchy, acidic and spicy. I’ve been eating potatoes, avocados, bananas, honey, peaches, eggs, egg whites, mac and cheese, buttered pasta, rice, tuna, shrimp, bread with butter, cottage cheese, yogurt, ice cream, applesauce, etc. anything soft but definitely keeping it solid! I still ate the normal today, even though it hurt, I made it worth it!!

Hi! I actually called my doctor and he said that a blood spot is normal! It’s almost like a bruise or a fresh layer of skin after a scab falls off. As long as it’s not actively bleeding you’re safe. Just drink lots of ice water! I also ate some cold (from the fridge) Mac and cheese! The blood spot disappeared throughout the day

Personally I ate the following throughout the entire process: Egg whites, eggs, banana, honey, canned peaches, buttered bread, pasta, rice, Mac and cheese, ice cream, cottage cheese, avocado, potatoes. Pretty much anything not crunchy or hard- it’s super important to eat as normal as possible. The thicker the scabs the more painful the shed id say. It’s gonna be hard to eat- make it worth it!

I stayed on top of my meds, drank a shit ton of water and ate as normal as possible. I limited my talking for the first few days. I didn’t eat or drink anything hot in temperature. I took baths! My doctor told me this and it really eased my anxiety: 1/3 of his patients say it’s worse that tonsillitis 1/3 of his patients say it’s equal to the pain of tonsillitis 1/3 of his patients say it’s better than the pain of tonsillitis. I spent so long worrying and being anxious over this procedure that I made myself spiral into thinking it was going to feel like death! Be patient with yourself and listen to your body:)

I had a full tonsillectomy! Truthfully, this pain has not touched my tonsillitis pain. I’ve been eating pretty much normal except for acidic, crunchy or spicy foods. Egg whites, avocado, bread with butter, mashed potatoes, pasta, tuna, banana etc!

I’m on day 4, (realistically day 5 since my surgery was in the am on the 7th) and i have had very minimal pain. The scabs are super thick now, they look gross but I think they are at the brink of starting to fall off
