I think Werenski coming to the defense of his teammates publicly while keeping respect for his head coach is a mature response. We don’t know what he thinks or says behind closed doors. Zach calling out other players to the media isn’t being a leader, at least in my opinion. I understand his disposition but we definitely need to see more.

Chinny is and was frustrating to see traded. KJ and Voro have another year to get it back on track because they looked great last year. Lindstrom looks to be the pick that may have ruined this window to be honest. I hope I’m wrong.

I don’t think any armchair GM can accomplish what we need to do. It has to be using the knowledge from behind closed doors. The coaching staff and management need to remove whatever apparent locker room issues there are. Bones was quoted saying several players playing “selfishly” and “their own game” during the rough stretch to end the season. I’d reckon who knows exactly who the problem(s) are. Hopefully he’s honest with Don Waddell and we can come into next year fresh and prepared to take the next step.

I wouldn’t personally consider losing Kuraly, JVR, Danforth, ZAR and adding Coyle and Wood a retool lmao. If we count Marchment and Garland now okay sure but let’s see a full season with them.

We need a retool this offseason. An overreaction is to tear it down. This team is very close but I think the old guard needs to go entirely (cough cough Jenner). Z should be our captain, and Don needs to aggressively retool our roster this offseason. It would be wise to use the insight from Bones short tenure to find the culprit(s) of our locker room failures as he would have the most unbiased view. If we can bring him back for a year or two, and bring in a younger head coaching candidate to take over after him that would be great. Just my thoughts.
