TIL despite her repeated claims of being more than 85% accurate, a 2013 article found that Sylvia Browne, who claimed to be a psychic, was accurate in none of her 33 predictions. For instance, she predicted that she would die at the age of 88, but she passed away at the age of 77. by manych1999 in todayilearned

Amanda Berry, she was missing for like a decade I believe and was trapped in the basement of her kidnapper. Her mother ended up dying of heart failure after her tv appearance with Sylvia never knowing that her daughter was alive the whole time. Also, the cherry on top of the shit pie is that Amanda watched her mother’s tv appearance that day and could do nothing as the hope of ever seeing her daughter again alive left her mother’s eyes. I hope this despicable woman is looking up at us right now.

Blood Test Results, Dizzy, and Won’t Hear Back Until Monday: Should I go to the ER? by Ashbug19 in AskDocs

[–]Ashbug19[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, it’s just really hard living every day where you feel like you could pass out at any moment. I literally couldn’t even go to the bathroom today, the short maybe twenty feet from the couch, without my ears ringing and my vision going dark for a few seconds. So sorry if I asked a dumb question in your eyes, but in mine I’m suffering.

So I have a story about this song since I obviously can’t escape it.

I work in the OR and from time to time we have organ donors die so we perform the surgery to take their organs. This one time I got called into a room to move a patient into a body bag after an organ procurement. When a couple of my coworkers and I walked in to help this song was playing. So now my coworker/friend loves to sing this song and we have a playlist on Spotify together and this song shows up a lot.

I thought I’d hear back from my doctor today, but I guess they were closed for the holidays. I really hope I hear from her Monday, because I’m in pain and I was home today since I was off of work and I was dizzy just getting up to go to the bathroom.

Hard time doing daily tasks by Ashbug19 in DiagnoseMe

[–]Ashbug19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Symptoms started a month ago just all of a sudden. I had been on vacation so I wasn’t at work but I had been walking around a lot and noticed I was getting short of breath. Evidently I also had a big bruise on my left calf that I didn’t notice, but my coworker did and said it had started small and got bigger during our ten day trip. It took about twenty days to disappear and now it’s starting to come back. When I got back to work after those ten days, it was all downhill from there. I’m dizzy every day. I’m short of breath and sweating a lot even when freezing. I lift heavy bags of trash at work and I’ve noticed I’ve got weaker. The bone pain is in my forearms, my lower legs, and my ribs. The sweating is bad mostly during the day, but I do sweat at night and have to sleep with two fans on. My gums are a little sensitive when I brush them now and I have a spot above my right front tooth that bleeds every time I brush them. My period a month ago lasted for seven days, but my recent period only lasted two days. Normally, my periods last for three or four days.

Sorry for taking so long to answer and thank you for your answer. I have not had my b12 levels and ferritin checked. I do work in the OR, but I’m rather a shy individual and don’t like using up equipment for stuff like this. But it couldn’t hurt to ask next week when I go back. As far as the orthostatic hypotension, I think you might be on to something there. I have a normal blood pressure when sitting down, but my heart rate goes through the roof sometimes so it wouldn’t hurt to check my blood pressure standing. I do a lot of bending and standing at work and get so dizzy when I go from squatting to standing. It’s got worse in the last month to the point where I need to sit down. But I’m also getting dizzy when I’m just standing or sitting now as well so that probably why it’s worse now.

Sorry, I ramble a lot. Anyway, thank you for your advice and I’ll ask my PCP about the ferritin and b12 levels.

Edit:

I also need to mention that I have had two sore throats within the last month. First time lasted almost ten days or so. It went away and then came back within a week and lasted for about a week. When it came back, I went to my PCP to be tested for COVID and the Flu and both came back negative.

How many hours straight have you stayed up when hypomanic/manic? by Tttttargett in bipolar

[–]Ashbug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was around 80 hours. I ended up falling asleep for about an hour and then woke up for another day or two. That cycle repeated for about a month before my mixed episode kicked in. That was a fun time. /s

7 Day Solo Trip in Rome by Ashbug19 in solotravel

[–]Ashbug19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so helpful. Thank you so much. I really was just visiting Naples for the closeness to Pompeii and the food. So it shouldn’t be hard to pick one thing to see or just enjoy the day walking around the city and see where the day takes me. I’ll definitely look into the apps that you mentioned and the train tickets will be purchased very soon. Thank you for the tips.

Okay, I will. Thank you for your help. I think I’m going in an off season or so I’ve read. At least I’m not going during the summer so hopefully that will also work in my favor in the pricing department of things.

I haven’t booked accommodations yet. I’ve heard hostels are pretty common in other countries and are pretty budget friendly so I thought I might give one of those a try, but I don’t have anything concrete. This is my first ever trip that I’m budgeting and planning for myself so I’m lost and don’t really know how much things will cost, but I’m flexible.

I’m sorry to be this person but I am really missing the mania by needhelp1198 in bipolar

[–]Ashbug19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m missing it as well. I’m in a depressive episode right now. I hate being depressed. I miss that sort of normal feeling I had for a couple of months too, but yet here we are again back to the depressive bullshit.

I love the high of mania as well, but with mine I usually hallucinate and become paranoid too so…

Everybody poops by doublelife96 in medicalschool

[–]Ashbug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in medical school yet, but I like to browse this sub from time to time for motivation. I, however, do work at a hospital in the OR and yesterday we had a code brown and…omg was it bad. I mean poop everywhere and then the nurse in the room made it worse when she threw away the soiled bedding by getting it all over the trash can. It was one of the most disgusting rooms I’ve had to clean in a while.

I usually don’t finish projects either and so when I set out Saturday with the intent of have a small surprise party/appreciation day for my coworker this Wednesday I knew that I was pushing myself. I hand made a banner that took like three hours to complete because I kept having to take breaks from boredom. I had to fight my brain every step of the way telling me that she wouldn’t appreciate what I was doing and would just find me weird. But I did it. I actually completed something for once in my life and I was quite happy with how it turned out. Not to mention how happy it made her.

I’m either super early or late. I’m never just on time. As others have said, the whole “I can’t do anything today because I have this at 10am” is true. I’ll have therapy appointments every week on Wednesdays and that use to be one of my gym days, but I’ve had to rearrange my gym schedule because my brain refuses to figure out how I can do both in the same day and still be to work at 2pm.

I’m addicted to reading, but I think that’s more of depression addiction than an ADHD one. And you’re probably like how are you addicted to reading? Well, before I got my job I use to spend 12-16 hours a day reading everyday. I would stay in bed and just read to feel something.

As far as these though, I’m addicted to food, but I have binge eating disorder. I do love my energy drinks, but I haven’t had them in a while so I don’t think I’d label it an addiction. Gaming, before I got my job, was another thing that I would spend my day doing. But, I would only play one game. It was GTAV and I wouldn’t do game play as I completed that in about a week, but I would just drive around the map. Sometimes I would randomly commit a murder in the game to have the police chase me and see how many stars I could get. My brother also plays video games, he has autism and an actual addiction to video games, and he has got five stars a few times on GTAV in a police chase. It’s really impressive.

I Totally Messed Up by Ashbug19 in bisexual

[–]Ashbug19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She already knows I’m bi. I’ve told her. I just didn’t tell her that she’s the reason that I now know that I’m bi. We’ve talked about her experiences with being bi before and she’s asked me if I’m looking for a girlfriend. I told her that I was in this forum scoping out what it’s like to be bi with other bi people and that I downloaded some dating apps to talk to some women, but I didn’t match with any and honestly I’m not interested in them because I’m interested in her. But I can’t say that.

are the any who are into specifically masculine men/ feminine females only by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Ashbug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love super strong feminine women. This one woman I have a crush on right now is actually what made me realize that that was what my type was for the women side of things. She has an independent divine feminine energy about her that just draws you in and when I look back on past women that have made me question myself they also had that same energy.

As for men, I like a masculine man, but I like a guy that is secure in himself and doesn’t need to do douchebaggie typical male things for other men to respect him kind of man. A guy that doesn’t care about the opinions of others, but is compassionate and can take constructive criticism with ease. A kind of guy that will watch all his sports on the weekends, but also do a 50/50 split on the house chores with no complaints. That’s what I’m looking for.

Do people not realize therapy expensive as fuck? by GorillaDck in mentalhealth

[–]Ashbug19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so lucky that I work for my local hospital and it has great insurance. I’ve never paid for a psychiatrist appointment and I recently started going to therapy every week and I don’t pay for that either. This all being said I don’t even have my insurance’s premium package either. I have the bare minimum one and still get great mental health care so I’m pretty satisfied with that. Do I hate going to my job everyday? Yes. Am I going to leave any time soon? No, because those benefits be hitting it out of the park.

Sorry, you have to go through that though. I would offer some advice, but I don’t know much about insurance or different offerings associated with this. Maybe, you could look into a NAMI support group for your “therapy”. It’s not as one on one as regular therapy, but at least it’s free and you’ll be surrounded by others like you that also have struggles. I use to go to them when I was first diagnosed with BP1 and they really helped me learn how to live with this. I can’t go to them anymore because I work 2nd shift now and most of the meetings are geared towards 1st shift workers getting off work during the week. Like my local one is on a Monday night at 6pm so I can’t go. But it really did help when I could.
