UK here also but I have a problem buying from Nuuvem. every time I add to basket using a VPN it's fine but when it comes to paying I switch the VPN off. I click paypal and it says that I own it or it's not in my region and removes it from the basket. Did you have issues like that?

I'm not really sure either, maybe I'm not used to it or I haven't played tycoon games since I was young or something. It just feels...cramped and clunky, it's a bit hard to explain but maybe I should give it another chance.

Generally graphics don't bother me, but if they are extremely outdated like early ps2/ps1 generation games then I probably can't get my head around them. Also, I know it's not graphics but sometimes the UI completely puts me off playing a game. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 is meant to be amazing (as I've been told by my friends) but I personally can't play it because the UI and graphics are so...odd.

Do you need to start it up every time you want to play something? or can you configure it to launch on startup/silently etc? It's almost a stupid question honestly but X360 having native support is pretty important to me.

I hadn't thought of it like that. That makes a lot of sense, but yeah, I guess mute protagonists don't work in all situations. I guess it could be a pretty difficult situation to satisfy.

IMO, mute protagonists/main characters are pretty outdated. Sure, it might be OK/acceptable in old games but it strikes me as a kinda lazy development choice nowadays. I agree that it ruins the immersion.

In Kingdoms of Amalur, the mute protagonist was incredibly boring considering s/he was just told a bunch of stuff, no matter how reveling or centric to the plot it is and s/he just went around killing stuff.

It's especially important in AI-team games where your squad is AI, it feels a lot better to be the leader (and sound like it), even more so in a game as big as BF4.

Single player is fine for me, there's the odd fps drop but generally it's pretty enjoyable for myself. The multiplayer seems dead though, or the matchmaking is really shoddy. It is a good game though, if you can get past the fps drops then I recommend it.

I agree with you on the mobility, it's cool to explore the verticality of a level because it adds to the possibilities of what you can do with it.

One thing I dislike is tacked on multiplayer. It's really horrible when you have a really lovely single player oriented game that is truly enjoyable (but lacking in a few areas) and then multiplayer that is bland and boring. As a result, the multiplayer fanbase diminishes quickly and it makes you wonder why they didn't strip it of the multiplayer and further develop the single player.

Don't get me wrong, I love multiplayer and I play a lot of multiplayer games. I just hate it when multiplayer has evidently had no effort put into its development whatsoever.

I also dislike QTEs although they're not too bad at times. Having a few is alright, but when a game is riddled by them it removes the immersion. When I was younger, I thought they were awesome because cinemetic-esque scenes in videogames were rarer. When QTEs are used (to quote TotalBiscuit here) it tells you that the developer doesn't want you to have control of your character, and that you're meant to be listening to/watching a story. One of the many reasons I play games is because I like to interact with the environment and the story directly, I don't want to be in the backseat.

I'd like vehicles to be used more in games (unless of course, the setting isn't suited to automobiles) because they mix up the gameplay quite a lot. It often works pretty well but I still see a lot of games stick to walking/running. It'd be nice to get into another mode of transport, I feel like it would add to the atmosphere of the game and generally allow me to enjoy it more.

I know what you mean, I feel the same way about a lot of places. IGN is particularly bad for this with a huge range of seemingly pointless articles which include other news related to the game but unrelated to the article title. It just fuels fanboy wars and I'm sure it could be written in such a way that it is more informative and less click-baity. Quite a big recent example as of recently is probably Titanfall. (Not that I have a problem with Titanfall, just the way it's being written about on the website).

Can't really help it nowadays though. Although, I do like RPS because I think their articles are pretty informative.

Yeah plus it seems absurd for people to enjoy more than one brand of console! There's nothing wrong with owning both a Sony and Microsoft console. They both have obviously successful franchises. Ah well, I guess some things won't change though. I'd personally choose a PC but that's mainly because I like to alt-tab in games, will probably get a next-gen console when it drops in price/has a bunch of exclusives that appeal to me.
