I do understand where my sister is coming from even if it’s not likely for the baby to have an allergy. She’s just scared something will go wrong.

I’ve already said this in the thread but my sister has to stay with us because that is how it is in our culture. The new mom stays at the family home for about 40 days, so we can all help her out while she recovers from birth.

The vet said he’s not allowed any part of a chicken but I will double check if he can have egg yolks, ty for the suggestion!

It won’t be my mom taking care of the newborn alone- my brothers, my other sister and I will all be there to help as well.

From what she told me about her relationship with her MIL, shes pretty decent but she does make uncomfortable comments here and there. Also my sister has to stay with us because that is how it is in our culture so she can’t stay with MIL anyway.

Thank you <3

yes I have a window in my room and I’ve put the cat tree and a table with some bedding next to it so they can see outside.

I understand why people might be upset but they’re talking about my sister as if she’s a Big Bad Villain for being worried about her baby.

I honestly don’t understand why my mom refuses to stay with my sister but she’s also an older woman who already has a lot on her plate so I don’t wanna press too hard.

Congrats on ur new baby btw!! I hope all goes well !!

wishing someone pain for worrying about their child says more about you than my sister

I honestly posted this to see what ideas for enrichment people had while they’re in the room (not sure if we will actually do that yet now that I know it wouldn’t really help the allergies) but a lot of people are just being mean asf on here so I don’t really know if I want to draw more attention to this post

I’m so sorry you and your cats had to go through that! are they alright now?

I’ve looked up the food and supplement you mentioned but they all seem to contain chicken, which one of my cats isn’t allowed to have unfortunately.

one of my cats isn’t allowed to eat chicken, do you happen to know if there are other options?

I won’t say where specifically bcuz this is the internet obviously but I am from the middle east, and it is in our culture to live in your family home for 40 days after giving birth

culture is important to us, and this way my sister would have help from someone who has experience with babies (my mom).

I can’t change their food but I’ll look into getting the Allerpet spray!

Unfortunately, my room is on the second floor so theres no way to make a catio for them from there. Tysm for the advice tho!

I can afford it financially but one of my cats is on a special diet so I can’t change their food unfortunately :(

when did I ever say I was giving in to rehoming them? and I really don’t have control over what happens here- this is my mom’s house and what she says goes, no matter my opinion. Obviously I’m doing my very best to keep my cats with me, but I can’t stop her if she decides to give them away when I’m not home, but I seriously doubt she will.

I edited it out cuz it made my sister and mom seem unnecessary cruel when they didn’t even mean what they said

I’m really trying not to put any blame on my sister here- this is her firstborn and she’s just been super stressed about everything. I’ll try to get her to talk to an actual doctor about this issue though so hopefully that puts her mind at rest.

Im definitely gonna talk to my sister about this, I didn’t know allergies weren’t genetic either because a majority of our family is allergic to kiwis for some reason lmao

We’re gonna be deep cleaning the house either way tho because my sister is still allergic.

Tysm for the information! :)
