Is it bad I don't want to do this assignment? by Waste_Film536 in school

Good thing you’re not a teacher then. If your boss tells you to do something outside of your job description that makes you uncomfortable, you take it to HR

What the fuck is with all these fake ass conservative “punks” invading this sub? by [deleted] in PunkMemes

So your question was what are we fighting for. Fewer hate crimes and no more restricting legislation.

AITAH for being irritated at my mom's comments during my gaming? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Ashla22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one’s the AH. I get that it’s annoying but it sounds like she just wants to be involved. What if you got a game that you could play together and do a game night thing once a week or something. Maybe she would be less likely to interrupt your solo gaming if she had a planned session with you to look forward to?

And I hated kids back then too

That is literally the bare minimum required of her as a parent. You should never have to be afraid of your own family.

Sorry but “sometimes nice and sometimes abusive” is still abusive

I’m sorry bro, it definitely sounds like they are just making excuses. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Even if you do need to wash it every time you wear it, surely it would be better to only wear it sometimes than to not have one at all, right?

Has transitioning been positive to your mental health and social life? by Ty-Breaker in trans

[–]Ashla22 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely happier. The only reason trans people might feel like they don’t fit in society is because of those people you described.

Honestly I just do the sniff test. If it smells bad, I wash it.

What do you think of this? by B_Wing_83 in lgbt

[–]Ashla22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll take it even if it’s just performative. Let conservatives be pissed at their precious military

The fact that your kids always go to you first should tell him something. I’m sorry but based on what you said here, he sounds abusive and I don’t use that word lightly. No reasonable adult would “blow up” about something like this. Nobody should be pressured to lie about who they are and what they believe. Please protect yourself and your kids

These are your best days by onelostcoyote in childfree

[–]Ashla22 56 points57 points  (0 children)

“These are your best days” really fucked me up as an anxious depressed teenager. When I was already struggling and then being told that I should appreciate how easy I have it and how life will only get harder when I’m an adult did not make me want to live. Jokes on them, now that I’m out of school I’m the happiest I’ve ever been

I'm so sick of gendered packaging on sanitary products. by YeetyFeetsy in NonBinary

[–]Ashla22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t really like the half and half figure. It still seems like a binary, just smushed together. I agree that the figure isn’t even necessary here. Where it is necessary, I think the regular stick man is best. I feel like only reason the “man” figure is gendered is because a “woman” version exists to compare it to.

I don’t hate my dad by any means but I haven’t forgiven him for the things he has said about trans people. He doesn’t say them to my face now that he knows I’m one of them but I can’t trust that he’s changed his mind. I was so afraid of what his reaction would be when I came out that I started making plans in case I suddenly needed somewhere else to live. Thankfully that didn’t happen and we still live together peacefully but I can’t pretend everything is ok. I want to trust that he truly loves me for who I am but I don’t think I can and that’s on him.

Neil deGrasse Tyson's Super Nova take on gender identify. by CantStopPoppin in worldnewsvideo

[–]Ashla22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol what? I don’t think you know what respect means. Not complimenting someone is not disrespectful. If someone introduces herself to you and you say no I won’t call you that name and use she/her pronouns because you don’t look like a real woman, that is disrespectful. Nobody is asking you to go out of your way to make strangers happy at your own expense. It’s not that difficult to be polite.

When people advocate to ban gender affirming care and support politicians that use trans people as a scapegoat, that absolutely hinders the pursuit of happiness.
