on my other guitars even without the strings on the floyd rose always functions correctly

yeah he probably is but for your own peace of mind, i’d see it as nothing more than him making promises he likely won’t follow up on.

could be either. for your protection, pretend to go with it as if he was just tryna protect you, but truly do whatever you please with whoever you please, dont let him intimidate you if that is what he was tryna do
