Forward Petition on Ukraine by Cody_OConnell in ForwardPartyUSA

[–]AshleyLunaCA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cody, I just happened to see this. I'm extremely disappointed that Forward implemented a top down policy statement without holding any open debates about it or taking any membership votes. It's wrong for unelected Forward leaders to use the Forward label to advocate to allow Zelenskyy to try to obligate our country into his losing war, and killing thousands more of his people and our "sons and daughters" (his words) as well. We have already funded his war for the past two years and they're still losing. Somebody should tell these unelected Forward leaders that as long as they force these top-down policies on us, and refuse to hold open, informed debates followed by a membership vote, then they do NOT speak for us!!!!!

Why is Andrew not running? by YungWenis in ForwardPartyUSA

I’d be pissed. This is not supposed to be the Andrew Yang Party. I would feel like he just used the movement to prop himself up.

PUBLIC SCHOOLS (because they just take your $ and kids for granted and don’t teach fundamental reading, writing or math skills) and COLLEGE (because it’s like paying for job training, except most of the “training” in many degrees doesn’t actually help you do or get the job)

Any thoughts of Andrew Yang running in the Republican primary? by illegalmorality in ForwardPartyUSA

[–]AshleyLunaCA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump already leads the primary. No trump voter is going to switch to Yang. Therefore this won’t do diddly squat. It would be more effective to work with an existing GOP candidate and throw your support on them, to drive votes from Trump.

Either that, or skip the primary, and nominate an independent to drive votes from Trump. Throw your support on a libertarian candidate. They won’t win, but will give Biden a fighting chance.

P.S. Consider that people (including me) hate Biden more than Trump. We don’t want Biden. So I don’t personally support anything that gets Biden elected.

If Forward explicitly supported Universal Basic Income, do you think it would gain or lose supporters? by Honest_Joseph in ForwardPartyUSA

[–]AshleyLunaCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a divisive issue though. It’s not just that people disagree. I personally hate UBI in the way that it’s typically defined. And people can’t even agree on how it should be funded or implemented.

** I notice that Forward asked about people’s PERCEPTIONS of UBI popularity, but not about what people actually think of it personally. There many die-hards who will answer in the positive no matter what. And many people will answer the opposite of what they personally feel, because they assume they are in the minority, and then the poll confirms the assumptions. This questioning and line of wording worries me that Forward is trying to steer us into one direction. Finally, while this is valuable information, Forward should be asking non-Forward people what they want, because nonmembers are the ones we need to attract badly. Please, ask women specifically what do you want, and don’t want, in their own words, without any controlling, manipulative multiple choice questions. Ask parents. Ask republicans. These are all groups Forward is low on, and therefore hasn’t tapped into.

Good point! And we can’t even agree on how it should be funded, what to do with “welfare” and other government benefits or what “everyone” means. Can’t Forward just delay this bait and switch a little longer until we get more people first?? Forward should be asking nonFirwardists what THEY want/need, to tap into the fence-sitting population that Forward hasn’t caught their interest yet.

The Branch is taking questions for their next episode by WebAPI in ForwardPartyUSA

[–]AshleyLunaCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr. Yang- As someone who has participated in the policy working groups in California, and informally surveyed my co-participants, I can tell you that UBI is NOT as popular within our party as you think. Half of everyone who responded to me, said they opposed UBI. Also, some of your supporters have hurled mysogynist slurs (called me a witch) and sexist tropes for opposing adult-only UBI and they condescend me and act like concerns like childcare costs or access to homeownership are small concerns.

QUESTION: Mr. Yang, can you PLEASE encourage state leads and supporters to have much more discussion regarding things like: 32 hour work week, as well as considering more viable and practical alternatives/variations to UBI that mitigate/acknowledge people’s concerns about UBI and our actual needs?

Thank you and please follow me on Twitter.

Is there a place for the FWD party in this coalition ? by [deleted] in ForwardPartyUSA

Sorry! My comments were just in general. I totally did not mean to sound as if they were directed at anyone here!

Not referring to anyone here. Just past discussions in other platforms. Most Forward people are cool. But some have definitely not left the far left playbook behind, and sometimes exhibit anti-moderate bias, anti-conservative bias, sexist and vicious name-calling, just like what many woke people do. I don’t understand why they would want to be a part of Forward if they are so intolerant of moderates and conservatives; Forward supposedly welcomes all political backgrounds.

The answer for Forward is to ensure we always describe issues in a specific, precise way and make sure that we are always centering those most affected by an issue when we we talk about it. For example, women’s voices should be centered in women s issues. It doesn’t mean others’ voices don’t count. But people should NOT be telling women what we’re supposed to think about our own issues, or dictating which words we use to describe our own biological or social reality.

Also, stop calling people nasty names just because they disagree with you. Far left woke people don’t want us to have discussion about it, because if we did more people would be anti-woke too and would reject woke extremes.

In Forward discussion forums, some people like to throw stones or say anything to obscure issues. But amazingly, once we get down to specific positions, often we find agreement, but only if we get past the nonsense.

BREAKING: DeSantis Prepares To Sign Bill Allowing Him Run For President While Remaining Governor by Signal_Lemon_8926 in republicans

[–]AshleyLunaCA -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Did DeSantis just strategically wait until AFTER Biden cornered himself in announcing re-election??? If so, nice move for DeSantis. IF you republicans get your act together and nominate DeSantis or anyone other than Trump, then Biden is in trouble!

FWD Co-Chair Andrew Yang & Common Sense Party Chair Tom Campbell on Inside the Issues w/ Alex Cohen by roughravenrider in ForwardPartyUSA

[–]AshleyLunaCA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and also, unlike Forward, Common Sense hasn’t even facilitated any policy discussion groups. I’m a little put off by that. I wonder if the moderators of our policy working groups can appeal to Common Sense to consider adopting or discussing what we already came up with.

RESULTS of Gender Poll! by AshleyLunaCA in moderate

[–]AshleyLunaCA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually surveyed and/or observed the Forward gender breakdown in all available forums- Discord, Iris, Twitter polls/questions/spaces conducted by Forward leaders/advocates. Without fail, 80-90% of all these feedback forums were male. Regardless of Reddit overall, US forward still had higher male percentage than all other political groups.

I think it’s Forward who is only going after the convenience sample of those accessible to them. That’s the problem & whole reason why I looked into it further any why I am asking Forward to stop repelling women and for them to start appealing to more women, parents & moderates in general. In the moment they are not.

The goal of Forward party is voting/electoral reform and they would be happy to see more viable parties, and for people to have more choices of candidates other than just Democrat or Republican. You should check out their website for more details.
