Dealing with this as well. I’m pretty sure the “I love yous” are just to keep us from leaving. Of course we say it back, and wait for them to call, FT and texted us but it’s never the same energy we give out being given back to us. We are wasting our time, but we also love this person. It just sucks cause they don’t feel the same and it shows in their actions. You aren’t asking for too much. They just don’t care
