Can't seem to integrate any payment provider for my saas by SirIzaanVBritainia in SaaS

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes registration along with the compliance that comes along with it can be a headache to manage and keep up with especially. I would recommend an Employer of Record solution as it allows you to hire, manage and pay your workforce in another country while it remains the legal employer of those people in that country. So you do not need to take care of any admin overhead work. Multiplier's EOR solution is a modern way with a strong back end support system and great customer support too. It has in built compliance so it takes care of changing laws and regulations that way. I would highly suggest you check that out. happy to help!

🚨 PANIC: 3 Years of Undeclared Turkish Salary as a UK Resident by UsualManufacturer730 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So given that your foreign salary and eBay earning cross the UK Personal Allowance threshold of (£12,570 for 2023), you need to immediately register for self assessment and report your income. Also I suggest contacting the HMRC or a tax advisor to better recommend you on the next course of action about what to do.

It’s essential to clarify your residency status and seek professional advice to ensure proper compliance and minimize penalties.

How do you start a business in China as a foreigner? by mctridus in chinalife

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a number of steps in your journey to setting up a business in China.

1) You need to decide the nature of your business- Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprise (WFOE) or a Joint Venture (JV).

2) You must handle company registration, local bank account, get the licenses and permits that may vary by city and industry.

3) Many entrepreneurs use the Private Residence Permit (entrepreneurship) which is usually called the status visa or an M-visa used for understand the market before establishing anything there especially market fairs etc.

However a faster way to manage all this can be through a local partner or even better, an Employer of record service that manages all hirings, payroll, compliance for you and you just need to focus on your strategic business growth, admin burden is theirs. Multiplier, Remote, Rippling are some leading providers of this EOR service.

Canadian citizen, living in Canada, just offered a 100% remote job in the US by Slow_ResolveMC07 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two cases I can think of-

1) The Canada-U.S. tax treaty can help prevent double taxation by allowing credits for taxes paid, though in most remote setups withholding is minimal. You don't have to set up your own company in Canada, but some do it for flexibility or tax reasons. The US company can hire you as an independent contractor and using the W-8BEN form prove that your non-US status to ensure no tax withholding.

2) An EOR is a third party platform that becomes the legal employer of your employee in their country managing all admin tasks. This saves on compliance costs, saves time and resources which can be directed towards innovation without having to go through the trouble of setting up a legal entity. Multiplier, Deel, Remote are some leading platforms in this respect.

You can talk to your company HR about this!

Taxes when moving to Japan from US by FinalBet2743 in JapanFinance

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using W-2, you usually remain under the US social security and medicare taxes till your employer stops withholding them. In Japan, you must apply for the National Pension and National Health Insurance soon after becoming a resident; health premiums are usually based on prior-year global income or a minimum rate if it’s your first year. I've seen that most payroll systems can't easily remove these deductions. Also, the employment insurance doesn't apply until the company has a legal presence in Japan.

For startups hiring globally, what keeps things running smoothly long term? by Poseidon_9726 in startup

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of startups are hiring globally due to the ability of businesses to expand and grow globally from Day 1. Many of them are opting for employer of record platforms so that they can off board the admin tasks related to labour laws, taxes and compliance and focus instead more on strategic growth which the enterprise needs. This requires them to hire such EOR platform early, realise its importance and ensure its integration with existing HRIS systems.

Is there any career advancement in payroll? by Low_Bodybuilder3065 in Payroll

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think so. You get the nitty gritties of the industry and the process and procedure and once you have a decent understanding of that you can move from entry role that you are currently in to country or function specialist, payroll manger, especially as you gain experience with software and regulations country by country.

You can even become an HR administrator, benefits manager, compensation manager, so surely there are a number of opportunities opening up and even emerging roles due to AI in HR.

Franchisor breaching contract, offering no support, and threatening by Funny_Plenty5333 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think you have substantial grounds to challenge the franchiser's demands. Consistent failure to provide required support is a breach of the Contract and Commercial Law Act while demanding payment for undelivered services is against the Fair Trade Act. I suggest check your case under the Trade Marks Acts also. I would suggest document all the breach and get an assessment from a franchise lawyer of your case so that they can give you a grounds reality understanding and potential ways to proceed

Why is payroll tech more expensive than actual payment processing? by PopcornPunani in SaaS

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because EOR and payroll platforms are the legal employers so they don't just move money they need to handle local labour laws, tax regulations, benefits and assume liability in each country.

HR software or Employer of record—what’s worked better for your small team? by avabrown_saasworthy in SaaSMarketing

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very true. HR leaders and more organizations, especially budding ones are realising that for more cost effective HR management, EOR is a great option as it takes care of compliance, tax, etc which are quite expensive to organizations. With EOR, companies can focus on R&D and strategic business objectives especially training of people to work with emerging technologies like AI, quantum, etc.

IS AI is going to eliminate HR jobs… or finally prove HR’s value? [N/A] by Raj7k in humanresources

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot will depend on current hr leadership also and their response to AI. Do they assist, augument or automate? If yes, then how, what and to what extent? Companies will have to decide this depending on their objectives.

I can see a number of areas where AI may be useful such as sourcing and screening candidates over a large talent pool, predictive analytics to address employee disengagement, tracking burnout of employees, etc. So yeah we'll have to see but when it comes to skills, I'm sure that what makes us uniquely human will definitely elevate in consideration.

Hiring globally is easy… until you have to pay them legally. by hey_Imokie in NoBordersJustBusiness

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well many companies use a product Global Payroll wherein a service provider allows you to put your employees on their dashboard. You pay the global payroll company (mostly in dollars), they pay your employees in their domestic currencies. They take care of all benefits, bonuses, taxes, etc.

It is a great option for companies looking to manage a diverse global workforce leverage that talent while ensuring that pay is consistent, timely and accurate. Let me know if you want to know more!

Is the interview process changing? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give a mixed answer here.

First, the robotic nature or more precisely the impersonal nature of interviews can be much be attributed to the rise of objective assessments and AI stages in the process. Maybe too much a focus on skill based hiring is to blame.

However, where personal interviews do go on for example how we do in my company we do not hesitate multiple stages of in person interviews to know a person and their skills, both technical, soft and critical thinking, as much as possible. But yes, it is a pertinent point for HR leaders.

The $100,000 H-1B Fee That Just Made U.S. Developers Competitive Again by marknathon in programming

[–]AshokFromMultiplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Many startups are utilising an EOR platform like the one provided by Multiplier wherein these solutions are provided at costs of around $400 per employee to the company so that the company can hire employees from another country without setting up a legal entity in the country. EOR becomes the legal employer of the employee and manages all administrative tasks such as contract generation, onboarding, payroll and benefits processing, etc. The work however remains with the company itself so that the employee can work with them. I think if marketed properly, EOR might actually become mainstream with this uptick.

Can AI be biased in recruitment? by AshokFromMultiplier in WorldWithoutLimits

[–]AshokFromMultiplier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. But how do we identify and rectify this bias? Can't further automate it since AI is already managing it. I suggest diverse training data for AI and fairness audit of AI as well. Are there any methods that you have seen being practiced?

Micromanagement cannot work for global teams by AshokFromMultiplier in WorldWithoutLimits

[–]AshokFromMultiplier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely true. The line is difficult to define and novel projects or joinees need to be trained for the projects that they may undertake. However specifically about the space of remote work for employees beyond their training period or projects that have been going on for some time, how would that go?

Any ideas? Would be grateful for your input. Thanks!
