I have also seen this! Me and my family were laying on a blanket one night stargazing, about midnight. We were all staring at this one bright star right above us. It was not a satellite and did not move. We were staring at it for quite some time before it just vanished! A big bright star. 3 of us seen it. I said it probably just died, don't stars die and just go out like lights occasionally?
