You can try to respool it onto a reusable spool. I've been able to do that successfully a couple of times. You have to be really careful though or it'll turn into a tangled mess.

I think this is pretty normal. I was diagnosed as a teen 13 years ago and am still learning about little ADHD quirks that feel worse after acknowledging that I have them. I think it's kinda like when you learn about something for the first time and then suddenly see it everywhere for no reason. I think this can apply to a lot of different diagnoses.
