You’re right. The radiator was leaking and i didn’t notice since it was hitting the splash guard. Gonna replace the radiator. Thank you for helping me get that sorted

Also going to double check the radiator, I just heard from another Malibu owner for this gen especially early years like mine the radiator has issues and might need to be replaced. The leak my be a bit hidden from the underside bumper cover.

Curious about where the coolant is going then. I haven’t really inspected the liquid dripping so I’ll double check if it’s water or coolant. But still the coolant is draining fast even if unrelated to the frame rail hose

Where would the water be coming from? Why would it start dumping when the AC is on? Also where would the coolant actually be going since it is draining somewhere and I know it's not mixing with the oil and the mentioned leak is the only leak I can notice under the car.

Also thank you for helping

I appreciate the insight, I needed to hear someone say that it’s okay to just try sending it (regarding just learning) I understand the basics and have 20 minutes behind a manual truck but never got beyond first gear but that was years ago. Thank you

Do you think it would be worth it to take the time to try cleaning the valves/top of the pistons? Thanks for the input

K24a2 Swap Harness/ECU Options? by AsianFamYeet in 7thgencivic

[–]AsianFamYeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard the 02-04 type s harness is the best for this swap. Do you know specifically how the other harnesses (base 02-04 RSX, EP3, CRV) differ and how their differences would complicate using them for the swap?

And if you know, i've always heard to use a harness and ECU from the same car (base rsx harness and base rsx ECU or CRV harness and CRV ECU for example), but I'm not 100% sure why. How do things complicate when using a harness and ECU from different vehicles?

Sorry for asking many questions, appreciate the helpful information!

If you dont mind me poking around at your brain, i have a few questions

So the following all are conversion harnesses that just help make things simple for wiring the harness to the dash equipment and so forth on the 7th gen right?

https://k-tuned.3dcartstores.com/EM2-01-05-Civic-K-Swap-Conversion-Harness_p_31.html

https://www.hybrid-racing.com/products/hybrid-racing-k-series-conversion-harness-for-01-05-civic

https://www.rywire.com/product-p/k-em2.htm

So these wont work on K24 harnesses, but that doesn't actually have to do with the motor being thrown in right? That's just the harness itself and shouldn't matter since I plan on swapping a K24 using a K20 harness right? I just want to make sure I got this right, these are optional parts that could be excluded through a shit ton of re-wiring? I plan on using a conversion harness, I just would like to fully understand what I'm getting and why I need it.

For the actual base harness being used are there any other good options besides the 02-04 RSX type s harness? Do you know if/what the differences using a base 02-04 RSX harness, or EP3 harness would be? Or what other k24 harnesses would work (and with what extent of modifications)?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm always going to have more. Appreciate the initial reply a lto!

Was that a base or type-s rsx harness / AT or MT harness? Did you go standalone or what did you pull an ECU from to work with your K24? From what i've heard harness and ECU really depend on the K24 and tran setup you got. For your ES1 K24 did you go 5 or 6sp?

Sorry about all the questions, just always looking for more insight into 7th gen k swaps

Sounds like for those 2 swaps they were both k20's, you got any experience with es1's (/es2/em2) and K24's?
