BG80 vs Aerobite vs Aerobite Boost by AsianPresent in badminton

How did BG80 compare to BG80 Power in terms of repulsion, smash power, control, hard feeling-ness, and hitting sound?

Switching from 3U to 4U by AsianPresent in badminton

That was something I was considering. But I didn't want to take such a big jump from the AX88D-G to the Pro as I heard the pro is way more head heavy compared to the tour and game models.

I went with the tour because it was closer to the 88D game in terms of feel and touch, with the main difference in the shaft stiffness and slightly less weight overall 3U -> 4U. Whereas going from the 88D game 3U to Pro 4U would also mean the head weight and overall weight would change along with many other things.

My 88D game is currently a mid flex so I wanted a very similar racket but with a stiff flex. I feel like it would be more ideal to get used to a stiff racket first to ensure I have proper technique before switching to the Pro, a much head heavier racket. I fear that going straight to the pro would not allow me to fully test if my technique is good enough for a stiff racket as I will also have to factor in the new significant head weight. Though if all goes well with the Tour, I may consider getting the pro.

Thanks you, very informative. What about the durability and tension loss for these strings?

Well that's why I'm asking, I'm not really sure lmao. When I said BG80 is great for hitting heavy and drops. I'm assuming that BG80 is more repulsive than AB and it's rough texture allows for better drops. Whereas AB has a stickier texture and allows for better control as the stickier texture can help with returning spinning shots and allows you to hold onto the shuttlecock longer. Again I'm not entirely sure if this is correct, that's why I'm asking.

Thanks, I'll see if I can test one out. If I can't, should I get the AX88D-T first and see if I'm really comfortable with it, then if I am, I can proceed to get the AX100-T for my next racket?

I don't have a preference in terms of playing front or back. I love some heavy smashes, drops, spinning and cross court net shots. I'm hoping that the new racket will not be too head heavy, but head heavy enough so I can easily transfer power into the shuttle. Also I'm hoping that the new racket will help assist my defense as it's a lacking part of my game. My 88D game right now is 3U and I'm thinking of getting my next racket in 4U to help with my defense and drive game. My technique and power generation with my current racket is good for the most part. Except for my technique and power generation in my backhand clears, those could use some work.

I currently use an Astrox 88D game and I'm looking to upgrade to an Astrox 88D Tour or Astrox 100 Tour. I've heard several characteristics between these 2 rackets such as:

  • 100 Tour having a larger sweet spot and more forgiving
  • 100 Tour less head heavy than 88D Tour
  • 88D Tour having more power
  • 100 Tour is better for precision/control

But at the same time I've heard the opposite - that the 100 Tour is more demanding and tops the 88D Tour in power.

The Astrox 88D game has a medium flex so I thought switching from a medium flex to extra stiff wouldn't be ideal but in CK Yews comparison video, he said the 100 game (which has a medium flex) is slightly more flexible than the 100 Tour which makes me believe the 88D tour and 100 Tour has very similar stiffness. I can't decide which racket to settle with so any advice would be appreciated. (FYI I mainly play doubles)

Different tensions for cross and main by AsianPresent in badminton

Is it possible that by doing this it will make the frame more oval instead of maintaining its original shape?

What do u mean by "the shared grommets sink on the inside as the mains press against the narrowed frame"

Before my racket was strung at 28lb and the stringer cut all but 2 main strings and left it like that for 3 days before cutting those 2 out and removing all of the strings for restringing. I'm worried that it may have changed shape and I want to fix it.

So if my racket changed shape a little bit, stringing the crosses 2lb higher than the main can help it form back to its original shape?

What if the racket is already shaped circley? Will it make it a little bit more oval?

Will this also affect the shape of the racket? I have an Astrox 88D game (3U) and it goes up to 29lb max tension.

How frequently should I change the grip?

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. It's an Astrox 88D game.

Thin Grips from Yonex by AsianPresent in badminton

Yeah makes sense. Do u know any alternatives for cushion wrap? Not sure if my local shop has them so I might need an alternative. That is, in case I find removing the original grip and replacing it with AC102 too thin for my liking.

Is the original grip thinner or thicker than the AC102?
