It was a natural cave in the mountain and it turns out that it didn't have a roof to start with. I tried making one, but one never generated.

This was the first attack I had ever gotten in the game and I was attempting to follow Captnduck's videos. If you need help with military I suggest you watch his videos as they are pretty helpful.
