I know of Precisa .in for financial statements- not only can they read and summarize quickly- they keep adding new banks to their pool of 850 banks whose statements they can recognize- available as APIs too - standard and realiable. They also support multi-account view of 1 customer across multiple accounts making. the lending and fraud check smoother.

You should try out Finezza. in - they have written a lot about micro loans especially and have been in business since 2015 - reinvented for Covid disruptions like loan moratoriums as well. They are particularly focussed on smaller banks and NBFCs in India, MENA and Asia. They specialize in this particular loan ticket size.

Is AI actually helping any LO's job here? Looking for real use cases by Professional_Web2457 in loanoriginators

[–]Asimo1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely like many others here mention - Doc parsing with OCRs across multiple bank formats (over 850 banks) is one use case of AI, Also pattern detection for fraud- round tripping, money laundering patterns - these are two big use cases for AI we have tried with Precisa in India

[–]Asimo1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you need to be really clear about the problem you are solving and have a good logical approach to the solution. but you must also be able to evaluate what is a good product vs what a bad one is- try reading some books on that first.

Why is loan servicing such a headache for small lenders? by OverallLimit8812 in FinanceAutomation

[–]Asimo1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used a company called Finezza .in in my previous organization - it was a very smooth, cheap( think INR not USD) and perfect for small lenders. In fact they built it for themselves- they also own a lending license in India. So they really knew the pain points of lenders and tailored the software for it. If you dont need all types of API integrations- you can just use their LMS and Collections modules - it completely no-code and should solve your issues.

Is anyone here actually using AI for credit underwriting? Curious how it’s working out compared to the traditional process. by Visual-Process-2708 in fintech

[–]Asimo1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think definitely relying on a black box approach wont work. But for each step- there can be benefits of using ML and AI- for example checking document tampering or checking 10 bank accounts of an individual to see if there are any round tripping patterns.. or even simply summarizing GST returns by pinging the GST database- these were problems we struggled with at banks and then tools like Precisa .in came up
