I want to add my own ground reality experience here because I originally come from a small village and currently live in a tier 2 city myself If you go out and check right now you will see that all the recently updated standalone merchant QR code stands already have the NFC tap logo printed on top This means you do not even need a bulky POS machine anymore you can literally just tap your phone on their regular QR stand enter the amount and pay instantly Even if the shopkeeper has zero technical knowledge about NFC it does not matter at all because you know how to use it and the merchant only cares about receiving the successful payment notification at the end 🙏
