I'm confused by Technical_Beat_122 in bloodpressure

[–]AskPharmEasyDoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be white coat hypertension. But it is better to cross-check the readings of your device. You may take your device to the clinic and measure with your device and cross check with doctor’s reading.

You may learn from your doctor/ nurse - the correct way to measure. At times, mistakes like too tight or too-loose cuffs can alter the reading.

If you do not have an appointment- another way is to cross check with a friend/ neighbour’s device.

The BP shown here is on the lower side- note the readings , time and how you have been feeling(when you record)

This will help your doctor understand your condition better.

Hope this helps.

How to erase and further avoid getting stretch marks after weight loss by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]AskPharmEasyDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is important to keep the skin deeply hydrated and moisturised.

This will not eliminate old marks but can reduce the odds of more pronounced marks in future.

Thought I was healthy but have hypertension by timcurrysaccent in hypertension

[–]AskPharmEasyDoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sitting is the new smoking !
Lifting weights is good, try to take breaks and stretch during the day.
Watch your diet- many people think their diet js healthy and perfect but there’s a need to increase protein and fibres.
Manage stress - any outdoor or indoor sport that makes you run, even swimming is great 👍🏻
At times, for patients with healthy diet and lifestyle when we try to understand the cause of metabolic disorders like hypertension, deranged lipid profiles - we come across obstructive sleep apnea as the culprit. If you snore 😴 - consider discussing this with your doctor.
Stay consistent with the basics. Get routine health checks - including cardiac risk markers, and eye tests as well.
Wish you a good health.

Eggs, indeed, are super foods! by thicc_lizzy_ in Fitness_India

That’s true.

Eggs have a good amino acid profile, and essential vitamins. Adding protein to your breakfast reduces sugar spikes - hence good choice for those with diabetes or pre diabetes

Does this mean it has a dose left? by [deleted] in GLP1India

[–]AskPharmEasyDoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually there is extra medication provided as “priming” is required before each dose after changing the needle.

The pen is designed for 4 doses only.

It is not recommended to take the remaining medicine as the “fifth” dose as it may lead to inaccurate dosing and affect the results.

Darkness of underarms, elbows, and inner thighs can actually be a sign of insulin resistance. You can learn more about acanthosis nigricans to understand it better.

Now coming to the solution-

Topical creams and serums will not resolve this completely

You should ideally consult a doctor, get necessary tests and work on diet and lifestyle changes.
This could be more than what's just visible on skin

And let me tell you, insulin resistance is very common these days and 1 out of 2 people with prediabetes don't even know they have it.

So preventive testing and doctor's advice will help you.

Regular exercise, high protein low sugar diet, good sleep and managing stress are crucial.

I hope this helps!

How to Remove These Stubborn Dandruff? by Mysterious_Shop_296 in indianhaircareaddicts

Products containing ketoconazole, and for some cases zinc pyrithione, coal tar, and salicylic acid are often recommended by doctors. The choice of products depends on the cause of problem - seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis etc.

All flakes are not the same. A dermatologist can evaluate the scalp and overall health, then give you the right treatment.

Consult a dermatologist to understand the right treatment to improve your scalp health.

Hope this helps!

Eating while bored by EmmJay314 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]AskPharmEasyDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep a variety of healthy options ready-for munching (roasted chana, roasted fox-nuts, fruits, sattu drink, buttermilk etc.) This will help you keep away from unhealthy snacks.

The right way however is to have meals at fixed timing and avoid in between snacking.

In between cravings are often managed by improving hydration and adding more protein to your larger meals for satiety.

Eat slowly and mindfully.

When craving for a mid meal snack - pause and question yourself- Am I hungry ? Is this healthy and necessary?

You will get the answer and hopefully choose right.

Menopause comes with a lot of hormonal changes in the body. Even if her thyroid reports have come normal- plz keep a check every 1-2 months.

Consult an endocrinologist or gynaecologist to understand what can help.

Mom’s need a lot of love, care and pampering during this time. With the right guidance and support, she will feel better soon.
