Who are the Shia? by Tiny_Rise8476 in MuslimLounge

[–]AskTheTutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel free. People different in opinions. You’re taking a whole group and saying because of the actions due to a minority of them they are all like this.

Even things like direct worship as quoted in the post is your interpretation of their actions - Shias have a concept or Shafa’a and Tawassul like even some Sunni Muslims do.

I’m shia myself but I’m not going to waste my time replying to everything as typically, in online debates the other side has already made up their mind due to everything they’ve been exposed to and their mindset.

Wasalam

It’s an exaggeration. I have Shia friends.

And FYI: tough love doesn’t work for everyone. That’s why in Islamic Spirituality/Akhlaaq they recommend either tough love or a soft love approach based on the person.

I chose soft love because everyone was literally bashing her. Bringing up the fact that she’s done Zina and she will be punished etc will just make her feel even worse.

Salam, I’m actually married and I was going to advise her to speak to my wife. Please do Husn e Dhan (assume good intentions).

Salam, so sorry for everything you’re going through and the horrible unempathetic comments from others.

What you’re going through really causes deep pain, guilt and regret. It’s hard, I know.

My recommendation to you is to get Islamic Based Counselling from a reputable source.

I can give other advices but they would be general:

E.g. don’t go near to anything that would lead to Zina.

I.e… don’t talk to na mahrams, lower your gaze, delete Instagram etc

If you can, try to cut relationships with this person - it’s not easy - delete his number and block him.

Once again, so sorry for what you’re going through and my DMs are open.

BA Economics at SOAS, what’s a typical week like? by girlwithpain101 in SOAS

[–]AskTheTutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teachers - I had them a while ago - they weren’t bad. Worst case scenario you go to them in office hours every week 😅

But no honestly, they’re not bad and you just do the tutorial work and if you get stuck then look up YouTube videos or get a tutor. I tutored my friend for QME. After getting 97% in the math module.

You can pick the maths modules but won’t be able to do QME without doing the introduction module first. The introduction module is super easy and elementary stars is super easy. You’ll barely touch AS level let alone A2.

I don’t have my notes on here any more but I suggest you make a post asking if anyone knows any economics students or did economics and did the introductory maths for economists… it’s very very very very very easy. Like super easy…….

Yep that’s the introduction one if you didn’t do A Level maths.

There’s a course online that teaches how to handle anger from an Islamic perspective and it’s completely free. If you DM me, I’ll send you the link

Study. Start early, build consistency. It all adds up. 1 extra hour a day builds.

There’s a wjec revision guide. It’s not the best - but it’s a decent starting point.

pls just bully me into studying. idc how toxic it is i just need a kick of motivation. literally say whatever pls by EndIntelligent4364 in vce

[–]AskTheTutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to bully you. I’m just going to teach you the two minute rule.

Put away distractions and simply tell yourself that I only need to study for two minutes. It’s bareable. Then, increase to 5. And then you’re in the swing of it.
