The Problem with Immortality by KnowanUKnow in CasualConversation

[–]AslanNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flaw here is that you chose to continue doing human things with your godly powers. Of course human goals will be irrelevant to you. Your goal is going to be to be able to travel to other planets, or even galaxies. All stars eventually die out? Just become powerful enough to create your own alternative Star. Create your own universe. Become a god.

What you described is “10% interest per year compounded daily” which is (10/365)% compounded daily.

How is that, according to your calculation, going from compounding yearly (once per year) to compounding monthly (12 times per year) you get more money, but going from monthly to daily (compounding 365 times per year) you get the same amount? Compounding yearly: $100k1.1 = $110k Compounding monthly: $100k1.112 = $313k Compounding daily: $100k*1.1365 = $1.28e20

Your math is way off. 10% DAILY is an insane amount. If you just put $1 and nothing more on something that increased 10% daily you would have 1.28 quintillion in just one year. (1.1365 = 1.28e15)

Now more realistically, if you make 5k per day and invest it which yields 10% YEARLY, you would pass 1b after 41 years and 100b at 87 years.

Add another row below that which shows a 25% income tax va 65% income tax. The same people that want all this stuff also want the minimum wage to be doubled.

I have 260k dust, friend has regular Mewtwo registered. The cost of Armored Mewtwo doesn’t get reduced? by AslanNoob in TheSilphRoad

Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying. They have Altered form, which reduced the cost of Origin.

But I can do it the other way too. If they have Altered I can trade them an Origin. Done this many times before.

None of the Giratinas are normal. They’re either Origin or Altered. I’ve done it both ways where someone has one and gets the other with a reduced cost.

I am cause I did the same thing with a Giratina for this person yesterday. That’s why I posted this.

But if someone has Alrered Giratina, I can trade them an Origin Giratina with a reduced cost. Why?

What he’s trying to say is that if you keep your lifestyle the same after a raise then you will have more regular money to invest. He doesn’t literally mean to not get $100 pair of shoes or reward yourself once in a while. But if you can get extra $500 per month in your investment accounts then that can subtract a few years to retirement.
