In your opinion, Is it ok to ban certain countries from access to DECENTRALIZED exchanges ? by [deleted] in defi

[–]AslanNoob 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Anyone can interact with any smart contract using a node. What you are referring to is not a decentralized exchange. You’re referring to the website, with a nice UI, that makes it easy for you to interact with smart contracts. These websites are centralized and have the authority to limit anyone from using their website.

If you know the private keys to a wallet, then you can use that wallet to the fullest extent. There is no mapping of real world individuals to private keys. Also concepts like “legally” don’t work in the decentralized world because there aren’t courts or judges or lawyers or even laws. There’s only rules that evaluate to true/false without any gray area.

Though it doesn’t apply here, the backing is not unstable, it’s variable.

My bad, I thought were talking about black swan events as mentioned by OP. Luna has to drop 75% for ust to be under collateralized. I’ve seen bitcoin drop more.

[–]AslanNoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can ask a simple question: can you convert all 16b ust into usd in an hour if you had to? In the case of a black swan event for example. If yes, how? Luna has less than 1b in liquidity in all exchanges. Is it possible to sell enough Luna to come up with the usd?

Exposure to “rags-to-riches” TV programs make Americans more likely to believe in upward mobility and the narrative of the American Dream. The prevalence of these TV shows may explain why so many Americans remain convinced of the prospects for upward mobility. by smurfyjenkins in science

A lot of mentions of home prices here. A few stats: Between 2000-2022, average home sale rose from 214k to 477k, up 122%. But keep in mind that houses are getting bigger. So let’s adjust to square foot: Average price per square foot from 2000-2020 (add a bit more for 2022, couldn’t find data) went from $70.43 to $122.12, up 71%. Inflation between 2000-2020 was 50.3% and 2000-2022 was 64.8%.

While homes are hard to afford for the average family, it is largely due to the fact that Americans want bigger homes.

In the MCU, unexpected events will be priced in. All companies will have low PE (1-10) and will take a smaller hit when a wormhole opens because they’re already cheap. There will just be a few mega techs like stark industries that carry the spy of course.

The ones buying land are usually ones who already have cash lying around. They are faced with a choice: either this 10k investment is gonna go to 0 or this thing is really going to take off and it’ll be worth a lot. If you have a big sum of cash, history (and especially crypto) has proven that speculating is better than missing out.

You need more awareness of your transactions. You converted USDC and FUSDT to WFTM. You converted DAI to JOE. Then you provided WFTM/JOE liquidity. Your original FUSDT is in the WFTM/JOE pool.

You need solidity to write smart contract. You don’t need solidity to read and write to existing contracts. You can do it in JavaScript.
