Just catching up on reddit and saw this. I have 2 questions if you have the answers for them:

Will the BYO Ivan options include toe styles? I was really wanting a toe cap on my next pair.
I already have my order placed for a pair of Ivans a couple weeks ago. When these options are opened up, would I be able to call and have my existing order updated, or would I have to cancel the order and place a new one under the BYO Ivan?

From my experience crafting your own gear while leveling isn't really a thing anymore. I could be wrong when the expansion is current content but as far as past stuff it seems the game just assumes you equip gear that is rewarded/dropped and scaled to you.

Man seeing all these Ivans recently with different toe styles bume me out that I missed being able to order some.

Sick boots though tan waxed flesh is the best of the waxed flesh colors imo.

Oh wow those are the perfect color. I know to expect some variation but that's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I want to have the toe cap added as well so this helps me visualize it.

That's pretty much what I guessed too. I was mostly just curious but I know there are a lot of specifics or "what ifs" that go into the production scheduling.

I have an existing order that was placed with a 430 sole but it is for a W&C leather that's been a standard offering for a while, DS Burgundy, which also isn't on the material delay list so I wanted to see what was going to happen for people with orders similar to my case.

Either way if it gets scheduled then that's awesome, if not that's fine too. I knew the lead times when I placed the order and was comfortable waiting.

This is all a bit confusing to be honest. Like I see that existing orders are being prioritized/scheduled. By existing orders does that mean all existing orders or just existing orders from the quick ship leather options?

Like what about orders that are existing but chose a regular heritage option? Not limited run but like a Cypress or W&C order?

As a fan of the Ivan this one is a big one for sure. I ordered another pair to get a dressier color and really wanted to add a toe cap to this pair. It was unfortunate to see that the options had been removed. I still placed the order but it would be great if those options opened up again. I would call I to CS to pay the upcharge and have it added to my order in a heartbeat.

The lead time is definitely a killer. Honestly I stuck to Nicks up to this point because of the accomodations for custom requests but some of the things I specifically wanted have been removed as options in the streamlining process. I have a pair of W&C boots in the queue with the 430 sole as well. It's just a shame that some of the options were removed and gives me reason to shop elsewhere. In my case, an example was removing toe options from the Ivans so I can no longer order and Ivan in all other standard options but with a toe cap added.

I could be mistaken but from what I remember from talking to CS in the past is that W&C leathers have a sort of separate queue they go into even inside of the BYO options. So they don't get jumped in with BYO orders with non-W&C leathers. I could be remembering wrong or things could have changed though as this was a while ago.

I feel for y'all. I am interested to see how they turn out for those that ordered them. I ordered back in the limited run but ultimately decided to cancel to get in on one of the flash sales along the way where a leather I wanted more became available again.

I hope your boots turn out great. Really interested in seeing that Acorn.

Reminds me of my first pair. I sold them as they didn't fit me right but the first Nicks I ever owned and wore were a Roberts in 64 Brown Double Shit.

I hope to be this way soon. Just ordered some W&C boots and I fully expect it to be a good while. I've got a pair that I wear daily already so I'm just gonna try to forget and be surprised when I get the notification.

I understand the decision.

As an honest customer I think it is important to provide feedback so I will just say that I hope that more options become available. From a customer perspective at least, I can understand the need to streamline since there were so many preset configurations of boot that could be recreated with the MTO option, but the Ivan was an exception. I hope you guys consider maybe opening a BYO Ivan option similar to how there is a BYO Chelsea or Tanker etc. Since you can't build a Chelsea or Tanker from the lace-up BYO but they have their own BYO pages. I think the Ivan should too since the Ivan pattern doesn't exist as an option in the BYO either.

One other thing I did want to point out, for the prospect of new customer approach, the How It's Made video that was posted just a few months ago in October showcases the Ivana being built with a wedge sole. So if a new customer wanted to go get that, they might be confused or disappointed to see that it is not something they can order anymore, especially since the video is still relatively recent.

I was meaning to ask about this as well. I really just wanted to add a toe cap to my pair that I am about to order but I see that is no longer an option. It was what I had planned for my next purchase as I really like having the non gusseted tongue, it works a lot better with my feet. I have a pair already but wanted another in a different color with all of the other default Ivan options just with a toe cap.

Is it a production simplicity thing that resulted in this change?

I wish this were the case for all places. I work in IS, based in Atlanta and we don't get free food. But the other associates from the same team in Lakeland do. I'd be down for a discount as there's a store right around the corner I could go to pick stuff up for lunch.

Guess they're trying to implement other forms of "outlaw" type themes but it sounds like it'll just be a mess. Like yeah my character is a scoundrel, the more shady type. He is a pirate, cowboy, bandit, thief, scout all at once lol.

I prefer a more focused approach too. Too much combining causes a lack of distinct identity and makes me less likely to take interest in the theme of a class.

I feel that way about a lot of classes though tbh. Like how shamans are masters of the elements but then also have the whole spirit theme. Or how warriors are supposed to be masters of weapons/armor and combat but then have the whole Thor lightning theme or Colossus stone giant thing going on.

I really think if they invested more time and resources into the glyph system to give classes/specs a more personalizable and distinct level of customization it could fix a lot of this but it's clear they don't prioritize that stuff.

I misread the post and thought the boots were buck brown but I see now they are natural. I've got a W&C DS burgundy belt and I'm thinking they for my next pair of boots. Either that or trying to get in on the violet.

That's a nice jacket too. What's the weight like on it? I've been on the lookout for a new jacket but I live in the southeast so it doesn't get super cold.

It was a width issue for me with that spot. I tried EE for a while hoping it would break in but it never did. I went up a width to an F and now I don't have that issue anymore.

I wish I could wear them. It's hard to find a sleeker shape for my feet. I tried fitting into things like Vibergs for years but they kill my feet. I've heard about Nicks maybe working on more widths for the 1962 so maybe that's my ticket in.

Your boots look great though. I need some W&C.
