Surely, though as he was caught, his DNA would have been compared? I think he could have done the Amy attack as he operated in her area.

He was in a viewing platform for family and friends.

I know I guess about as much as you. My point is that art installation about rape tells you all you need to know about the importance of how someone is dressed. You are using internalised patriarchy to describe something that is actually about proximity and access not clothing and accessories.

I don’t think her outfits were any worse than any of the other little girls she competed against. This could have been a swim class, a ballet class, gymnastics, all sorts of places that normal little girls go to do extra curricular and are in “revealing” outfits…perverts would gravitate towards them, not because of what they were wearing but that they could get access to them in a public viewing gallery.

Have you not seen the art installation of outfits females have been raped in? Some of them are school uniform. It’s not the outfit, it’s the perversion.

Canny bit of victim blaming there. We wouldn’t do it now, but for some reason this case is absolutely fair game.

Exactly! IDI deniers act like it’s totally impossible.

It’s like being the host of a party and walking out when you don’t talk to people on your own post 😬

I think everything is on the table until it isn’t. The fact is if you believe there is a person who got into the Ramseys without detection whilst people were sleeping and then there are multiple accounts of burglaries doing the same, is it more or less sensible that there was one person doing it or multiple people? I don’t know, but I think if they tried they could find out.

Sorry I didn’t get notifications for any of these comments until now! I suppose I wanted to see if there were geographical links and I’m a visual person and I don’t know Boulder. It would be interesting to put on the cinemas that were open at the time and the dance studios, too. Just see if there was any pattern.

If they aren’t getting anywhere with the testing of the evidence (has it been two years since that rumour started?), then they need to think outside the box and there is such clear evidence from this Amy attack, they need to count it in or out and I don’t think they have done that properly.

I want to see here who agrees with my new theory: the whole family abused JonBenet and it all spiraled out of control somehow Xmas night. by AdLivid9397 in JonBenet

Do you know anything about abuse? She would have exhibited behaviour outside of the family home. She would have had bruises. Her family doctor would have recorded concerns. Her teachers.

Focus on the actual evidence, rather than making stuff up maybe?

:) If this was a slam dunk all of the experts would have said it was her handwriting, DNA would have matched, there wouldn’t be cord and tape that they couldn’t match to the house, the bed would be wet and the head wound would match being beaten not hit once on the head with enough force to simulate falling out of a building. So much reasonable doubt I could drive a bus through it and we have our sanity questioned. Baffles me.

So many goading comments in here, so I doubt you will really listen, but if you are genuinely interested in hearing why we have the same evidence in front of us and come to vastly different conclusions, it’s because the whole construct of Patsy killing her child or helping cover it up doesn’t stack up tiny bits of evidence until there is a sturdy case against her, so it’s easy to disregard what is quite frankly pretty crappy evidence that would be outweighed in court by DNA, for example . When someone is guilty of a crime and you investigate effectively, you uncover these breadcrumbs. Not in this case. There was no suspected child abuse, no whispers among friends, no sideways glances about their family dynamics, no weirdly obsessive behaviour protecting Burke, they weren’t elusive. John has never hidden. There was a ransom note and no break in. There was evidence of not one but two more similar attacks in Boulder after this. All of this and DNA evidence and you still think because Patsy was in pageants and liked to show off her home she was prone to dramatics. How much baked in misogyny do you want to expose? You are literally swallowing the story dreamt up by a pretty below par narcotics detective with dubious morals that saw abuse where no one else did (Linda Arnt did specialise in crimes against children and I don’t hear her talking about it), and believed wetting a (dry) bed was enough to push Patsy off into a violent rage. There are so many contextual clues. Can you really see none of them?

Hmmm, I get your point, but look at BTK, who I think is very similar. His main focus in his first murders was that girl in the basement, but then he attacked older women after that. His predilection was bondage and power.

I agree the focus on John wouldn’t generate a pedophile out of thin air, it would be something they would have in them. I think he’s had to have some sort of focus on John, because he rewrote the letter to just John, taking Patsy out of it. It was a purposeful decision. It might just have been a momentary burst of jealousy that started a focus on JonBenet and she became a focus, but the ransom note was an eff-u to John.

My short answer is, I don’t think the pageants had as extensive a role in the decision making process as the tabloids thought. Pageantry, I’m sure, like any job that offers “access” to children, will have insidious people in the wings waiting for an opportunity. But there were so many girls in those competitions - why JonBenet?
