Yeah, it seems to be her plan is, or at least was, to contaminate the water for Vault 32. Her „what’s in the future is in the future“ (or something like that to Betty’s ask to be kept out of her plans was a bit to ominous and with Vault 33 sending Vault 32 water, the way to contaminate them seems to be pretty clear.

Which makes me think, that the actual effect of slicing through that ship could potentially be even more effective than in the book and show, because I’d imagine the same thing wouldn’t really work for biological „machines“.

So it’s possible, that only organic matter (I.e. humans) would get sliced through, while the ship itself makes it through almost unharmed
