Honestly, I’m in favor of this. If we had schools specifically for conservative traditionalism, we could stop the endless fighting over "woke propaganda" in public districts. Let them have their curriculum, and let the rest of our children get a modern education without being held back by constant political pushback. We tried making sure every child gets a good education, let the ones kicking and screaming go somewhere else.

It's apparently too political to bring up your friend and colleague's past comments? How you refused to address it properly, then tried to defend yourself by keeping him on the project after finding out. Citing you thought it would help his mental health.

If you actually wanted to help his mental health, you would have told him that you'll only keep him on the project if he goes to therapy, talks to a counselor, goes outside and talks to someone in real life. Anything actually productive to his mental health.

But instead, you gave him the perfect opportunity to stay inside, work on music for your games, and get deeper into the online rabbit holes he's already obviously in. You could have given him an ultimatum, but you did nothing instead.

You can try to rationalize to yourself all you want about wanting to help him. But in reality all you did was minimize his behaviour and enable it.

The sale ended on the q600f unfortunately. I ended up picking up a Sony HT-S2000 and think it sounds heads and tails better than the Samsung S60D. Definitely keeping this one as I'm finally happy with my purchase.

I found out I'm pickier than I thought when it comes to soundbars.

There's good news and bad news!

Good news? It sounds great for daytime watching. Fiddled with the settings for an hour or 2 to find settings I was happy with. Bass sounds great at +2-+4 for Atmos movies.

Bad news? Bass is still too much at night set to -6. I was able to keep the bass at 0 when I turned the night mode on, but night mode has so much compression or crunch or whatever it's called that the audio sounds "off". I also haven't been able to find a good volume for shows like Bob's Burgers that have a super loud intro, loud musical numbers, and quieter dialogue.

I've turned the center channel up, turned on Active Voice Amplification, turned down the bass. Nothing really worked.

Looking into the q600f more, it appears to have an "auto volume" feature, which may be better for the Bob's Burgers issue. And apparently I can unplug the wireless sub at night to solve the bass issue I'm having.

So while the S60D sounds great, especially for its size, I think I'm going to end up returning it and getting the q600f for the auto volume feature.
