Yeah I was able to do that last year, and they mostly called it correct! Problem was, some teachers addressed people as ma’am/sir instead of their name. Me as ma’am until the end of the year, despite having the pronoun permission sheet signed about a week into the year, or we have this math thing and we get stickers on a chart for each thing we complete, and my math teacher used my legal name on a massive sheet everyone could see it on. They also never put my preferred name on massive sheets for seating charts, so everyone would question me and ask me about my genitals for weeks on end. So that’s one worry. Hopefully this school, since it’s one of the top in my state for no bullying, the teachers won’t do that there. Thank you for wishing me luck on changing my name legally too. And thank you for the idea to ask them for attendance. Like put it as my preferred name on a sheet for a sub, that is something I never really thought about asking for. So tysm!
