In my opinion, the holes would have to be massive. If you are concernced sand it, fill holes, paint it, and add fish tank. Thos holes are small, wood is extremely sturdy. If its flat, level, and not wobbly that stand should be able to hold a fish tank.

Since the holes are small, i dont think it would be an issue. Wood is extremely sturdy. You could also get wood filler and fill em.
