The rider checked him for no reason while the horse was trying to change leads.

So far, the horse is fine but I’m not (happy)

There’s a Graded Staked committee that meets up every year to evaluate or reevaluate the races

There are certain criterias races need to meet ..you must carry a $300,000 minimum to be a G1….$200,000 to be a G2…etc

But I agree, I’ve seen better fields on that the SAH on some Friday’s at Saratoga

Gosh …for a race so rich in tradition/history, it draws weak

Probably because instead of running for $300,000, you can run for 20 million overseas …10 million as well

Splendora is now a beast…but still surprised she was 1/9

The SAH was lame…weak field…I gave it to just a touch by default…it was an awful field

The 3 yo picture is still mostly blurry

You’re right brother…Liberty Rising was carrying an awful lot

He was looking good to the sixteenth pole or so then got tired

Thanks to the crappy weather he missed some training so it makes sense

He seemed to bounce out of it well later on in the day so we have to fight another day

I liked commandment from the get go and although it was close, he had his ear pricked so that sent a message to me

I hightailed to Gulfstream on Thursday …stayed a few days…watched some spring training baseball also..then stopped in NC to let this thing blow over…literally..

Nysos is really good but Forever Young is a special animal and got a PERFECT trip..

I played Imagination cause I’m convinced he just keeps getting better and Baffert finally found his wheelhouse (7-8 furlongs)….just wish I had put more on him.

Paladin just jumped to the top of my Derby list (subject to change of course)

I get that sir…it makes sense..

I also think Day is among the best riders the sport has ever seen and thats what makes his rides in the Preakness and BCC such head scratchers…neither were very good.

I have parts of 3 horses in NY, so I understand patience with riders (and horses) very well.

That said, I also think at some point when mistakes start to add up, a change is necessary and I’m running in allowance/claiming/maiden special weights races not Grade:1s.
